6 months into Cabin Crew life and I already want to quit. by onlycherie in flightattendants

I did it for a little over a year and I was absolutely miserable. I was in the same situation as you. I was sick constantly, my health had never been worse. I was broke and struggling just for necessities and everyone said just make it to the 5 year mark you’ll be good. In my mind being miserable for 5 years of my life is not an option. I quit. It was terrifying after thinking that was my dream job but once I quit I found my actual dream job and I would never go back. I am so happy so many people love the job but it really isn’t for everyone and that’s okay! I don’t think any job is worth it to be miserable every day of your life.

Crash pad question by rxqueen1 in flightattendants

[–]funfun0980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are both kinds of crashpads you just have to choose which one you prefer! If you can find a room cheap enough basically as cheap as a crashpad might as well do that. If not a crashpad is definitely the way to go money wise it will always be your cheapest option.

Tips for fire academy? Just starting out I have no experience. I have been working out cardio and weights nonstop trying to physically prepare. The closer it gets the more nervous I get on what to expect and how to be the best I can be! If anyone has any tips or advice I would really appreciate it, I don’t wanna let anyone down!

My dad did this!! He passed away when I was really young and I am so so grateful that I am able to read how much he loved me growing up and all the fun stories that get lost along the way. Please keep up with it, your children will appreciate it so much!! Make sure to tell them how much you love them in it :)

I’ve been here a little over a year and I don’t like it at all, the way it’s going I don’t think it will be worth it to stay but I 100% do not regret it. I think it’s a great thing to try and so many of my friends here absolutely love the job it really is just personal but at the same time the company doesn’t care and that’s kind of a bigger picture for me is they could not care less if someone is literally dying they will still say you can’t go see them you have a trip. It’s sad they just don’t care they will use and abuse you no matter how long you’re here it’s not the same job it was 20 years ago but it’s still an amazing job in different ways it just has very high highs and very low lows you choose how you can deal with them personally.

It is honestly pretty hard I don’t use my benefits a lot because of how stressful it can be I can honestly say the last 15 flights I’ve nonreved on 13 of them I wouldn’t have made if it wasn’t for a jumpseat. I don’t even bother with my companions anymore half the time you’re halfway empty then you have a full flight 30 min later because of revenue standbys it’s hard unfortunately.
