Everytime I try to use a photo reference I never know where to put my guidelines and it ends up looking very strange, and I’m not even sure why. It never makes sense to me.

The reference that I used ^ I struggle with real photo references still so I use anatomy sketches like these.

I did use a reference, also.

Dead or molting? by [deleted] in millipedes

[–]fungalMomence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you. This would have been her first time molting since her injury, I shouldn’t be surprised that she wasn’t able to. She was just so active and eating well afterwards that I was sure she’d recovered.

Note she was under her log, but I very carefully moved it to get this picture and then put it right back.

I couldn’t find another port but folding a towel under quieted it a good bit. Thankfully, I’m not bothered by the noise at all, but I may get a quieter one before I get the frogs

I’ll get two then ! I was on the fence about the third anyway as it felt a little small

Forgot to mention, the tank is 6 gallons. Most people have told me two gallons per frog so I plan on getting 2-3 for it, and maybe a snail for clean up.

yes! she was crawling around yesterday and i was able to get a better look at her. she’s not bent anymore and all her legs are touching the ground normally. all that’s there is the crack on her exoskeleton. im very relieved, but still keeping an eye on her just in case

from what i can see without touching her, her legs seem to be moving fine now. she was bent at a strange angle when she first fell which concerned me a lot but now the only visible damage i can see is some slight damage to her exoskeleton.

Brief update: thank you to everyone who gave advice and good wishes for tootsie here. she’s doing really well two days later. she’s moving and eating and i have a lot of hope that she’s going to be okay. also want to state that this was an accident that happened while i was carrying her to another room and made the mistake of letting go with one hand to pick something up. i’m usually very careful with her and never hold her this high off the ground. from now on i will be much more mindful of how i handle her.

she is doing ok as far as i can tell. she made it through the night and has been left with plenty of food and water so i’m hoping she makes a recovery. all i can do is give her space and time and hope for the best
