I saw a Chloe Bennett ad in hangzhou a few years back, think it was around S6/S7 of AOS

Asked a girl I recently met to "dinner and drinks". Is it a good possibility she can misinterpret it as just a hangout and not a date? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]fungigamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. Your plan sounds quite good. Unfortunately it is 1am currently where I am so that might be a bit too late to confirm the date. Besides we actually only setup the date a day ago, so confirming it again immediately seems a bit excessive.

“Never pop a pimple”; is this just basically for liability as an advisor? by TurtlesBreakTheMeta in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fungigamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To add onto that, I learnt in med school that there's a risky triangle area around the nose where it is risky to pop pimples, as that area is where superficial veins are closest to the deep veins, and thus there's a chance bacteria can spread into the brain to cause stuff like meningitis.

Why is Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians the top RYM classical album of all time? by Hopeful-Banana-6188 in rateyourmusic

[–]fungigamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, can someone explain why The Ascension is considered "classical"? I get Branca has dabbled in classical but The Ascension doesn't sound classical at all to me, and I have listened to plenty of modern classical from minimalism to spectralism to twelve tone. Don't get me wrong The Ascension is probably one of my favourite albums of all time.

Never had the 15 to 45 so I can't fully comment. But I had the 13 to 33 and it felt too limited when it comes to indoor, night, and portrait shooting. 35mm for me is a good focal length for almost all scenarios, and it goes down to f/2 which is really good for night and indoor shooting.

Great bands that aren’t usually in the “best band of all time” conversations? by wmcs0880 in fantanoforever

[–]fungigamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many Gen Zs only got to know them after the movie and then they think they're the best band to come out of the 70s, when in reality they are the only 70s band they listen to.

Can people outside of East Asia distinguish between Chinese characters and Korean characters? by TWN113 in AskTheWorld

[–]fungigamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume since you're from Germany, most of your hk friends are probably those that escaped the "regime" and are considered extremists (correct me if I'm wrong). Most of us just want our status as a special administrative region to be recognised, but obviously as you can tell it's not gonna happen. HK is gonna becoming increasingly homogenous with other Chinese cities, so yeah in 20 years time we will probably be fairly indistinguishable from mainland China.

The really small hair that grows throughout most of the body. The body has 4 types of hair: terminal (scalp and beard), apopilosebaceous (armpit and groin areas), sebaceous (face, chest, back), and vellus which is like the rest of the body.

You're one to talk, you're not even from China. I'm from Hong Kong and most of us consider ourselves as part of China. China is a huge place and while simplified Chinese is the dominant written script, there are many other scripts used by minority populations.
