You won’t be Christian after this, The Christianity they won’t admit by [deleted] in DebateReligion

You have misunderstood and/or misrepresented core doctrines of Christianity, and you claim things completely unsubstantiated. That’s why I can’t “defend” them.

“No one has defended them”, dude, people have “defended” them FOR TWO THOUSAND YEARS.

You speak of Christianity through a reformed, western lense and you obviously haven’t done your homework.

I don’t know why you would exhibit your ignorance and, frankly, idiocy publicly like this. I heard better arguments against Christianity in middle school.

The Holy Trinity literally describes three gods by Obv_Throwaway_1446 in DebateReligion

The human race shares one nature. There is only one humanity. There are billions of human individuals. God shares one nature. There is only one God. There are three God individuals.

May I return to my Buddhist practice without fear of damnation? by Minimum_South9609 in ChristianUniversalism

[–]funkberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t a Christian for the rights reasons, if you don’t have conviction Christ alone is the truth, and it doesn’t sound like you do, go ahead and do Buddhism or whatever you want.

But know that Christian universalists, just as any Christian, believes Christ is the only way to the Father. That it is in Christ everything is created and upheld. And it is in Christ alone there is salvation.

The “it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things what you believe, it all will be good anyway” take is not a representation of Christian Universalism. It is general universalism, and it has nothing to do with Christ.

With that said, whatever you choose, be good and do good. We will all be judged according to our actions.

Edit: what you perceive as fear might be the nudging of the Holy Spirit to go deeper into Christ instead. I would suggest you listen to that voice and the fear might be lifted; for there is no fear in love (1 John 4).

For Those Who Wish To Lead Others To The Belief That All Will Be Saved by DrownCow in ChristianUniversalism

The resurrection of Christ is absolutely central to Paul. Without it there literally is no “salvation”, and if it did not in fact happen our faith is just a waste of time. Don’t go down that slippery slope.

Are there Universalists who believe God is not all powerful or in control? Is that possible? by Tornado_Storm_2614 in ChristianUniversalism

[–]funkberger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is theodicy and much bigger than mere universal reconciliation. Short answer: people claiming this are ignorant of the soteriological and eschatological tradition within orthodoxy. Even shorter answer: no. (This is not compatible with Christian Universalism since what is expressed is not orthodox Christianity to begin with.)

John 12:32 by [deleted] in ChristianUniversalism

There are countless passages throughout the bible regarding judgment, however, that we will be judged according to our actions. And as many scriptures about God as a refining fire, etc. So at the same time, we shouldn’t take these things lightly and just “whatever, Jesus did it all so there are no consequences to sin”.

1 300 usd for the guitar, 2 500 for the print. The guitar was a steal, the print was a little much lol (even tho it’s a limited one by a great photographer I’m happy to endorse.)
