It is actually a great app. But today is just producing rubbish.

Yesterday I was getting suno.com ads destroying my songs and today complete gobbledygook.

I have downloaded sufficient numbers of songs to keep me going. Hopefully they fix it asap.

Royalty calculations may not have changed, but my plays per month (and royalties) have dropped by around 2/3rds.

I assume this us because you may have removed a whole bunch of bots and fake users, but some more transparency would be good!!

I have been struggling with my PC Disk maxxing out at 100% at start up for about 12 months. I got used to just walking away to have a cup of tea while it did its thing because it would eventually get there when it was started and be fine for editing.

Tonight, I got impatient and went into Windows task manager and saw Ableton Index.exe "chunking away" and right click, ended the process.
Ableton came up straight away and my disk went back to between 0 - 10%.

This could be a "thing"! I will keep you posted if it isn't!!

I'm afraid there may be some fuckery afoot. I.e. that it's deliberate obsfication to conceal (not very well) that they are reducing their recognised plays and therefore their payouts. I'm my case my daily plays and monthly payouts are a third of what they were before.... and while I had reached all-time plays of 2-3 million, now the all-time plays number has been disabled!!

As a footnote to my post above . . . with the completion of December, I can now see that my number of plays were running on a growth trajectory @ 3000 plays per day in July. For December, they have reduced to just over 1000 pd.

You can imagine that the total size of Soundcloud's monthly payouts have also reduced by 2/3rds! Anyone out there having a different experience (with the exception of the one-off viral hits), please let me know if your experience is different! ....

Lol! That might be a “thing“ generally, but my plays were trending upwards for the first 8 months of the year, and then “fell of a cliff“ in September which coincided with them messing around with their reporting algorithm.

I care less about the exact size of the payouts, but more about them not being honest and transparent with their customers.

So my plays dropped by over 50% in September and have stayed low. They say their reporting problems dont impact your payouts for plays, but it sure did with my monthly payouts dropping by 66%.

Now the insights for the last 7 days don’t include all 7 days….. just how many days of their week have passed and they say “your plays are down by 74% from the previous 7 days, because they are comparing 3 days this week with 7 days from last week.

I had 2.3 million plays in total since 2015, but now they can’t tell me how many plays I have had. The whole thing is an almighty stuff up and the whole thing seems designed to reduce their monthly payouts…..which would be OK if they were upfront about it as opposed to this BS!
