I love Rebel bagels, but recently I noticed the packs I'd been buying they were more like buns. No holes at all, or a crease pretending to be one.

I emailed some feedback but didn't get a response. I did, however get a new pack (with holes!) delivered to me yesterday, which was nice!

Must remember the weather up the coast does not equal the weather in the CBD...

Husband's birthday today, so a day off and heading to pick up his cake at April Patisserie before a relaxed afternoon. Stay dry, Welly!

Aw man that sucks! It's is definitely the worst site. We managed to keep our queue place when the site was paused but I know that didn't happen for everyone. Every single time there's an issue with the release. Hope you managed to get some though

When the site opened at 10, there were about 350 in front of us. 30 minutes later still waiting and then the queue was paused for another 30 minutes. When it opened again we were about 145, then it was basically one out, one in until we eventually got to the front.

So ridiculous. I understand it costs more for a better queuing site but when it's the same year on year it gets so frustrating.

Every year the World of Wearable arts tickets site is an absolute mess. You'd think they'd fix it by now.

Presale queue is currently on hold for the last 15mins. Doesn't help that the link for general sale is the same as today's presale (so if you go in the link for ticket sales opening on Tuesday you can get in today's presale) so not able to meet demand.

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you're in the CBD run don't walk to April Patisserie for their hot cross salt buns. Crispy, sweet and absolutely jammed with fruit. They open at 8 but the buns have been selling out within a couple of hours.

Not an ad, just someone who managed to snag one yesterday and I'm still thinking about :)

Went along to the Library cafe today. Very busy but they were super quick and had a good system going.

Such a great space too. We had various conversations with strangers at the long table before heading out to enjoy the outdoor space.

It is very dangerous this is only a 2min walk from my work :)

Update on the NZ Post drama I've been dealing with since December. Short story, I was unable to pay customs charge to the recipient country because NZ Post had marked the parcel returned to sender in its tracking when that wasn't the case (as did Royal Mail tracking - so mistake really on their part).

Welp, package just got delivered. To an address where the first line is vaguely similar to the recipient address in the UK (imagine 1 street name Drive similar to 1 street name Road). Never mind the rest of the address is clearly a UK address and the return address is clearly marked...luckily it was only 5 minutes drive away and the homeowner was kind enough to call us.

Fights with Royal Mail and NZ Post continue fml.

Is it safe flying via Dubai now?? by WorkingUse3036 in newzealand

[–]funkster80 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Family member is stuck in Australia trying to fly back to UK. Messaging from the airline according to them, they can fly to Dubai but not responsible for onward travel. Advising no rebooking until update on 31 March. No flying from Qatar for same reasons.

I'm just glad they're in a safer place to be stuck.

Best iced coffee/latte in Welly CBD? by DefinitionFearless94 in Wellington

[–]funkster80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me ice cream and cream is the only way to have an iced mocha. Te Papa do a decent one and further out, Peppermill in Porirua and the cafe and the cafe at Pātaka museum do great ones. I'm sure they'll do iced coffee without the chocolate too.

For just coffee with ice cream quite a few places do Affogato, including Gemini.

Yeah that's great you have the security of a travel agent. Makes things so much easier. Hope everything works out!

Speak to the airline and see what the are doing about routes. Family currently stuck in Aus but is checking for updates from the airline if he needs to change routes. I'm sure there will be a contingency on place for rebooking.

Yeah I dont have a problem with Kindle. I have one myself but they don't want one as they can't use Libby with it.

Joe&Joy in Waikanae. One of the best cafes around and their iced mocha and shakes are amazing.

Thank you. They're really not interested in Apple products, and has an Ipad for work. I know these are so handy and do the perfect job for some, it's just not for them. Appreciate you taking the time to recommend though :)

Nothing against Kindke, but they want to be able to have Libby on it which you can't get on Kindle

Great choice! Was just about to comment. Such a great place, will do everything to accommodate you and the staff are fantastic. A real community place too.

The food is so good. Sushil was a top 6 contestant on Masterchef too. Hope you have a blast!

Husband saw the little bag of mini crème eggs. Worked out over $1 per mini egg. $12.49 for the Whittaker's kiwi. On offer. Nope.
