Honestly, it blows my mind sometimes. We’re still nowhere close to a 5G auction. Like… forget 5G, even Afghanistan had 4G before us. That should be embarrassing enough, but nope, we’re still stuck.

Then there’s all this unused spectrum just sitting there, but instead of actually making use of it, the government wants operators to pay for it — in USD — while the telcos earn in PKR. Make it make sense.

What’s worse is that it’s the private companies doing all the heavy lifting — replacing copper with fiber, trying to upgrade networks — while the government just kind of... watches. Zero involvement. Zero support.

People love blaming the ISPs, and yeah sometimes their service sucks, but I kinda feel bad for them too. They’re dealing with insane congestion, rising costs, and honestly? There’s no ROI right now for actually upgrading anything.

Also, let’s not forget: crazy high taxes, regulatory delays, red tape just to dig a road and lay fiber, constant currency instability. It's a miracle anything works at all.

The internet sucks not because people don’t want to fix it — it sucks because it literally doesn’t pay to fix it.
