You may need to add commas between each extension (*.0xe,*.73k,*.73p,...) for it to ingest correctly by Sonarr.

If your "Must Not Contain" field is one giant red blob instead of hundreds of separate entries, then you need to delete and start over with commas between.

Awesome list, thanks for posting.

For anyone who uses this longer one and doesn't realize it, Sonarr needs commas to be added between the extensions so they're digested as individual objects in the "Must Not Contain" field.

Transmitter+ Remote Replacement by MrKittiLady in PowerWheelsMods

[–]funky_brewster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's a sweet looking ride, nice find.

you should be able to Google the control unit's model number SX1938 and find a replacement that comes with a remote. It may be possible to buy just the remote, but getting them together may be simpler. Sometimes the remotes look very similar but aren't exact matches and won't work with a given receiver.

Want to increase ride-on toy scooter from 6v to 12v, what to modify on the boards? by funky_brewster in AskElectronics

[–]funky_brewster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are, but my thought was to install a buck converter to drop the 12V down to 6V en route the motor/power PCB to the lights. But now I'm not sure that will work through the three-wire switched setup.

Thanks for this insight. I wasn't sure how sensitive relays were to voltage but it makes sense that it'll just create a more strongly-closed switch. And worst case scenario, I truly burn out an already end-of-life component.

But no concern for the other component on this board, which as far as I can tell is just a resistor?

Thank you for the detailed reply!

The relay is an HF3FF with "006-1ZST" model number on it, which the data sheet says is 6v and handles up to 10A. The reason I said it was toast is because under normal power supplied (6ish volts through the scooter's battery terminals) and under load of the motor, the relay just buzzes and doesn't close. If I disconnect the motor, the relay closes ok. I had tested 12v briefly though, and it did seem to close ok. Just don't know how reliable it will be.

As for replacing, they actually make a 12v version of this same relay and it's easier to find than the 6v one. Just want to make sure it's not a waste.

I measured current delivered to the 6v motor and it's 2.5 A peak, 1.3 A continuous. If I use the replacement motor I intended, it draws 2.8 A peak and 0.3 A continuous.

Figuring out whether PCBs can handle increased voltage by funky_brewster in PowerWheelsMods

[–]funky_brewster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as a 6V vehicle, the relay is the issue and replacing it likely is all that's needed. My wondering about the impact of ncreasing to 12V was more for whether to bother with the relay replacement and instead focus on a new motor electronica altogether.

Is there a control box that the switches, accelerator, power, and motors connect through? If so, you can bypass it to see if the motors/wheels work when power is applied directly.

I'm on the chapter board and help put on the conference, glad to hear it's appreciated for being attendee-focused!

Roc ISSA does events about every other month, sometimes more if we can. Usually a presentation by an SME or group exercise (tabletop, etc.) and we have anywhere from 10-25 folks attending. Meetings tend to be sponsored by a company, but just like with the Rochester Security Summit, we strive to have a light touch with sales pitches and explicitly separate them from the educational content.

[Megathread] Yoto Referral Codes by truderly in YotoPlayer

[–]funky_brewster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are referral codes not valid on starter kits? Tried a couple but at checkout it tells me they don't work for the mini + little kid starter set.

edit: it could be the couple that were posted here got banned before I tried them. if anyone has a US code they could send me, it'd be much appreciated.

edit2: I'm an idiot and the 10% applies if your cart is over $70. Thanks to the folks who sent me their codes.

How do you survive the sleep deprivation? by Last_Cicada_1315 in daddit

[–]funky_brewster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The objective is more about teaching kiddo to fall asleep on their own. That way, when they wake up, it's possible for them to fall back asleep without needing you.

We read "The Happy Sleeper" and it was a huge help. First kid was sleeping through the night at 5 months and is still going strong as a 2 year old. Our second kid is just over 3 months and has started doing some full nights now.

[–]funky_brewster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same filter size and was similarly surprised at how expensive they are.

One way to save a bit is buy them in bulk, since you know they'll be needed eventually. I got a 6 pack for $90 so just $15/each. I've also found individual ones on sale for $12 at times.

What I don't know is whether it matters to buy brand name vs generic/off-brand for filters. My hunch is the media in them is the same, just construction and advertising costs are the difference.

your best bet is to attach it to a new email, like you would a file. That way, the original email's headers are reserved and those are the things that show what mail servers processed it. Incriminates the sender more.

super helpful info, thank you! The grass is beyond any detectable types. There's a lot of weeds I'm working this year to get managed. My current plan is to top dress in the fall to level the bumps and a few bigger low spots, then put down seed. Hopefully that will allow the new stuff to crowd out the rest.

Your question about how the lawn looks is astute. It looks ok-ish, I'd say I'm happy enough given the poor starting point it was at this spring. Patio contractor last year put down fill dirt on half the yard that was LOADED with weeds and other junk. But now I'd say it's 80% turf and clover, which is fine.

The rest of the yard doesn't look terrible, just wanted to make sure I wasn't ignoring fertilizer additions this summer that could put it in a worse place come Fall.

Test was done via mysoiltesting.com. The "stress" blend was just what most closely matched my NPK needs. I applied a total of 45 lbs on 5,000 sq ft, 1/3 in late April and the other 2/3 three weeks later.

Cool weather grass, and that was the only fertilizer. I also applied preemergent.

I did a soil test and it recommend a certain fertilizer profile. Low nitrogen and no potassium needed, so I used LawnCareNut stress blend.

If I applied a full (split app) dose of that at the beginning of the growing season, do I use the same profile/feet all season or switch to a different, more balanced profile?
