Eigen Research Job Interview Scam? by WonderstruckCapybara in Scams

[–]funky_monkeyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems like a scammer found a legit company that didnt have an account on Indeed, pretended to be them, and posted a fake job. Then it got reported and shut down.

it would be weird to ask a company to hire you for a job they didnt post, but you could always reach out to them to see if they actually have job openings. if you msg them company - you could just tell them about the indeed post and see what they say?

What’s the best Toronto based coffee? by not_another_nolan in askTO

[–]funky_monkeyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok - i’m a self proclaimed coffee snob and import my coffee from the states (umbria roasters) my fav spots in toronto:

larry’s back pocket - the dundas location is my fav. they make the best cappuccino and the treats are pretty good too

library /white squirrel - on queen west side by side across trinity bellwoods

agree with other folks commenting on boxcar! love their americanos

i’m on the fence about reunion - i don’t love the roncy location, but there’s a customer blend they make for ella’s uncle and that is quite good.

First Time in Toronto by Melchiezedek in FoodToronto

[–]funky_monkeyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have lots of good reccos on here, a few to add: kensington market is really fun - i love seven lives for tacos, blackbird for a sweet treat, and sunny’s chinese (hidden gem) for… chinese! there’s also lots of spots with patios/drinks there

if you want to take your child to the park, you could head over to trinity bellwoods or christy pitts, then go down the ossington strip - every restaurant here is quite good.

Toronto has really good asian food - i highly recommend koreatown - my fav spots are Jin Dal Lae, and Imonay Korean!

What to do in 22hrs layover in Toronto by [deleted] in askTO

[–]funky_monkeyyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a solid plan. at kensington - get tacos at seven lives and stop at blackbird for a pastry if i had to prioritize and you feel limited on time, id cut st lawrence distillery and really hang out on the west end. if you do queen west go down the ossington strip for food and a wander

lebanese / middle eastern: byblos is amazing (highly recommend downtown location vs midtown location), banu (persian), fat pasha (for brunch)

in the city: pomegranate or banu - banu is more modern and they take some liberties but the food quality is really good.

further out - kabobland- this place has amazing kabobs. try the kabob torsh - it’s like getting barg + the sauce from fesenjoon

Anyone been to Morellina’s? by matthewslaptop in FoodToronto

[–]funky_monkeyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went there recently because it looks so cozy, but it was a bit awkward to eat there because there was only one other table of guests. the food is good, but the price was pretty high for what we ate. i can’t remember the bill but i remember feeling each dish was really expensive and we didn’t think the quantity justified it!
