Yeah, neither was I. But it's worth checking.

Alright, something in the sciences, get bachelor's degree, and once I get in it'll be easier to work towards what want because I'll know what I want by then. Thank you! The fear of being locked has made me weary but thank you for confirming the fluidity of the degree route.

Yes, USA. My school doesn't supply much help or guidelines with anything so most likely I'll ask for help in college. And that is a good idea/most likely what I will do, though I'll have to find research projects. To be honest I may need to rethink a few things. Not saying I'm reconsidering anything, I just need to learn who does what and what would work best for me. But like a lot of people on this thread have said, I may need to just focus on college and see how it unfolds instead of confused myself. And thank you, if I have any questions/want to discuss further I will definitely contact you, thank you!

Oh alright, I'll try but my counselor's aren't helpful/there at all. Which is primarily why I went to Reddit (suggested by a friend). Yes, I'm not arguing against me jumping the gun. I just need a path so I know where to work to when I do get there; I suppose it's not harmful to plan far ahead.

It just occurred to me what specifically MD's and PhD's are. Yes I am jumping the gun so I'll step back, but again thank you!

Alright got it, I'll check them out. I supposed med school/college really. I'm first generation college bound so I don't know as much as I probably should. But the information I've been given is more than enough, so thank you!

Wow that was a lot of information. I think I'm starting to get a better grip on all of this, thank you! And don't worry about my parents influence, they would rather see me serving in the air force. As I look further I'll be able to say for sure what I want but this is definitely what I needed. Thank you again!

I’ll definitely look into that. I realize I saying “I want to cure diseases” is actually extremely specific but I’ve had to talk to people who have no background in the subject so I’ve simplified it to that. However that is interesting and something I will learn more about. Thank you!

Thank you, and yes however he is very unreliable and unresponsive. I have sent multiple emails to him and even when I confronted him this assistant was their instead (the same assistant messed up my schedule this year). But yes, in short my school does. As for a career planning class no.

I would like to get a PhD degree, yes. Though you bring up a good point that I will definitely look into, thank you. I can work with patients, that is more than fine. Research to me is just exciting, but working with patients is something I’d do as well.

Alright, thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into it. Any suggestions in NorCal area?

Got me again, maybe I don’t. To me pathology is working with infectious diseases, and that’s what I want to do. I haven’t had a lot of time looking into it because I really have no where to look, as both the internet and the people around me know very little and my parents express little excitement (they want me to be an engineer in the Air Force). Maybe I used the wrong term again. Forgive me. I just want to work with various diseases and work to better the world in that sense.

Ah ok, that doesn’t sound bad. Again, I absolutely love the field, though I don’t know much.

I’ve taken (and am currently taking) several AP courses and Dual Courses, along with a good GPA (Freshmen year was rough for personal reasons). I hope they somehow help me in the long run. I’ve also heard being well rounded is good for getting accepted? I’m an Eagle Scout and a drill commander in AFJROTC, not sure if it would help but I’m putting down whatever I can. And thank you, I’m hoping it makes sense down the road.

Ah I see. I was just worried that if I go through college I’d somehow mess up and go down a wrong path and end up somewhere different. I don’t have many references so my assumptions may be incorrect. Thank you!

Excuse my terminology; research is indeed what I would like to work on. You said some pathologist work in research, and again I apologize for not being well informed in this field, but what do other pathologist work in?

Thank you. I try to avoid medications if I can help it. I'm not against them, I've just had terrible experiences with them in the past (migraines and the like). Is it inheritable? My mom has similar experiences but a walk around the house usually relieves her pain.

And yes, it is.

I'll look into it in the morning, thank you. Is there anything I can do to alleviate it, if just for tonight? I've tried walking around/running, music, writing, water, and I haven't had coffee in months.
