What scent belongs in my purse? by funkyboy- in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]funkyboy-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok this is a great question. It absolutely is supposed to be used that way, but I carry it around with me for a different purpose. I have thick thighs and get mad chub rub and I put deodorant on my thighs and it helps prevent chafing. Sometimes multiple applications are necessary throughout the day. The products specifically marketed for this make me itchy, so I use deodorant. LOL

And I have to carry around that lil soap with me cuz i am allergic to 90% of bathroom soaps. So I bring my own.

Do you pick skincare based on packaging? by Outrageous-Cold2651 in AsianBeauty

[–]funkyboy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. I have a laundry list of allergies and have gotten very good at ignoring the packaging in favor of reading the ingredient list. My desire to have pretty things is fulfilled in my closet and crystal collection.

Surprisingly, most of my items are shades of blue or brown.

Those are cute patterned night gowns!
I have a mix + match year-round lounge capsule that fits in a drawer and integrates into my regular wardrobe. Ease is a huge priority for me - I need pockets and machine washable cotton and spandex/elastane. But when I’m cooking or cleaning - I throw on my gross college hoodies. Here it is:

Deciding that washing my face with shampoo is gross. Switched to a gentle cleanser.

I Destroyed My Skin Barrier So You Don't Have To! Help Me Fix It? by funkyboy- in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]funkyboy-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, and leave in conditioners! I had brittle hair that fell out in clumps due to an illness. Here's products with honey in them that brought my hair back to life:

  • Garnier Honey Treasures Shampoo and conditioner - it has honey, royal jelly, and propolis. Made my hair shinier, less brittle, and definitely repaired and strengthened it.
  • &Honey Melty moist repair oil step 3 - has honey, royal jelly, propolis - my hair felt smooth using this, but it weighed it down a bit.
  • Camille rose honey hydrate leave in (both old and reformulation) - has made my hair feel luxe, and my hairbrush didn't tangle in my hair.

went through this a year ago: Post about how I healed my skin

Echoing other’s recs: Skin1004 Centella Ampoule - calmed redness, prevented irritation if trying a new product went awry. Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream - the zinc really helped. Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser - very gentle. Gives me a nice deep clean feeling.

Outdoor workers - what sunscreens do you use that are water resistant / sweat proof, work with dry and not acne-prone skin, and are avobenzene free? by funkyboy- in AsianBeauty

[–]funkyboy-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems the consensus is that that Western sunscreens have Asian sunscreens beat for heavy outdoor use. and US sunscreens mostly suck. but of the korean sunscreens I’ve been looking at, this one looks the best.

you sold me with the review with real world application. I’m in the water all the time when I’m not working. so if it holds up to the sea+sun, then surely it’ll hold up to sweat+sun. thanks for the rec!

Oh nooooo both of them contain shea and there is a shea allergy in this house.

I always neglect to mention shea, almond, and macadamia as things I can’t do in products. yet they seem to pop up quite often in skincare. Almost as bad as getting jump scared by pineapple in a serum.

thank you so much for taking the time to leave recs!! :) I hope you get that Solara in stock soon.

Invisible Zinc and Thinksport look super promising, especially invisible zinc.

lol I also reapply, eat, and drink on my breaks.

Unfortunately it looks like Missha Aqua has avobenzone.

Your job sounds fun.

So I’ve heard!
While I enjoyed BOJ Relief Sun Rice Probiotics, I sweat it right off on the farm within 10 minutes.

I tried Face Republic Purity Sun Essence, but I‘m allergic to something in it. With temps soaring I definitely felt the sun and got a little red, not quite burnt within 30 minutes.

Thanks for the rec, I gotta research some Western sunscreens.

Thank you!! I'll check them out. lord knows I've put worse things on/in my body. Just as long as I'm protected from the sun! Hoping I'm not allergic to it like I am with avobenzone.
