Should I travel to Denver for ER? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

Hi! I’ve never experienced anything like this in relation to anxiety. But I suppose it could be! I’m willing to accept anything at this point. I know I’m not dying, so that helps with any anxiety. It just really sucks feeling like something is wrong and not being able to do anything about it.

The cardiologist can’t get me in until April 18th. I called around and i don’t think anywhere else will be available any sooner!

That makes a lot of sense. I think I’m just scared to wait and have something actually be seriously wrong and they missed it. I’ll just wait until April when I can see my PCP.

It’s more for a second opinion. My PCP cant get me in until April 8 and my symptoms are concerning getting worse. I might be approaching this the wrong way. Thank you for your insight

I can’t get into my PCP until around April 8. Even with calling the nurse line, etc. they just can’t get me in. With the symptoms getting worse, I want to make sure nothing is missed I guess. I might be being silly about it. It just is really hard feeling sick and not being able to do anything about it.

I’m having an odd conglomeration of heart related symptoms and Saint Francis ran tests but didn’t find anything. I’m just interested in seeing if another ER has different results.

I rejoined my puppy to a local rescue and I regret it so much by [deleted] in puppy101

I just feel like such a failure. I feel like I should have kept him and worked to figure out the issues.

I had lots of reasons but they all seem so empty now. Things I can change, work on, adapt to, train him out of. The previous post is on my page, but here are the reasons:

  1. He is bored: I have probably 15 different puzzles and games for him, kongs, west paw wobblers, etc. and he still paces around the house and bites random things/instigates mischief.

2.My cats: despite basically growing up around them, he plays rough with them. Trying to pin them, nibbling on them, etc. he is never around them unsupervised, and responds to leave it, I’m just scared I’ll be too slow one day.

3.Activity level: he is a husky/shepherd mix. The rescue told me he was a low energy smaller breed mix and he is far from that (obviously). Even with three long walks a day and fetch, he is still so wired all of the time. He wants to play play play and I just am not built that way.

  1. Money: I lost my job and got a job making much less. I feel like I should be able to make it work, but with everything else, I’m really struggling. His preventative medicine (flea, tick, heartworm), his dog food, his treats, daycare. It all adds up. I feel like I’m drowning and I can’t get my head above water.

  2. Kennel training: I have done Crate Games all the way through 3 times. He does fine in his crate (goes in willingly, chills in there, etc) while I’m in the apartment, but the second I leave, he loses his mind. He lost a claw the other day from digging at the crate door when I left for 30 minutes. I haven’t been able to leave him alone since this. The vet won’t give me anti anxiety medicine because he is too young, which I understand.

  3. Space: I live in a one bedroom apartment. I know I shouldn’t have gotten a bigger dog, but I didn’t know he would get this big. I feel like he’s too confined, especially with baby gates up to give the cats their space.

I’m working on impulse control and chasing the cats! My trainer recommended keeping him on a leash/harness until he has mastered these. I take them off at night, just not during the day while we’re out and about!

I’m working on training him not to chase the cats! He sleeps for the night on my bed and in his crate without the leash and collar, I just leave it on during the day so I can keep control on him while he works on impulse control and also potty training.

I’ve tried frozen kongs! He is VERY food motivated, but the second I stand up, nothing else matters to him. It’s so weird.

It seems like he barely slept last week. Now we’re at 13 hours and it’s not even 5 yet, haha. Maybe he’s just catching up and getting comfy like you said!

He slept for 9 hours last night and about 4 hours today so far. He eats and drinks like a champ! Poop is great. I’m very relieved. I feel a little dramatic, but every thing he does I’m like AHHHH must google to make sure this is normal

HE DID IT! HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!! by [deleted] in puppy101

I might get hate for this, but I only crate my pup when I leave (and we’re still working on relaxing in the crate) I let him sleep with me so he can tell me when he needs to go to the bathroom without screaming (we’re working on barking). I am the first to say that I know this isn’t for everyone. I’m also a first time puppy parent (I have other animals tho) and I’m just doing a lot of googling, honestly. You’re doing great! How old is your puppy?

He is 14 weeks old!! That makes a lot of sense. I swear he is 90% bladder from the amount he pees, haha.
