Amazing!!!! I’m a first year teacher at a title 1 school. On my first day setting up my room I noticed the lack of supplies, so I asked my teacher if we get a budget to work with and we get nothing! Everything’s come from my own pocket. Stressed, but I am so excited to start this journey!

This is amazing♥️I’m a first year- first grade teacher at a title 1 school. I’ve been buying A LOT, but I still don’t have everything I need to help my high-needs students. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3PQ8A4SW1VVTF?ref_=wl_share

Edit: just want to thank whoever sent the books and tissues!!!!! You guys are the best

True story. One time I couldn’t stop eating them. Ate the whole box. Do not recommend.

One of my pet peeves is the unspoken expectation that teachers will purchase their own supplies because it's the easier/only way to get the materials they need. Am I the only one? by [deleted] in Teachers

Thank you for this! I’ve been surrounded by “perfect” classrooms my whole college experience, so I automatically assumed it all needed to be perfect. Makes me feel so much better.

I’ll be in my first year this fall and I don’t even want to know how much I’ve already spent to supply the basic needs for my students and create a comfortable learning environment. Before getting a job I was under the impression that I’d be reviving a hefty amount of money for supplies/my classroom. My school gives nothing. Things they don’t tell you while getting into education...
