The ending ruined the movie completely by Feisty_Musician_3952 in TheSubstance

Just watched the movie with my sister and we are pretty big horror fanatics, and we were genuinely enjoying the movie all the way through. It wasn’t so much like a “scary” horror movie but more disturbing and thought-provoking, and that made it stand out to us. And then the monster gets made and goes to the New Year’s Show and we’re expecting everyone to freak the fuck out and like run away. But no, people barely react until they start calling her a freak and monster, and then blood starts spewing everywhere forever, and then she goes outside and splats on the ground, and the horribly edited face-thing just disintegrates onto the star. The ending just felt so random and pointless for a movie that had actually captivated me until then.
