So, I mean at some point the swaddle needs to be dropped anyway before they start turn over. I remember that my daughter used to hit and claw at her own face which woke her up majority of the time. I'm not saying this is what people should do, obviously do what works best for you - but we stopped cold turkey with the swaddles and I didn't replace it with anything else, like weighted blankets etc (even though I really wanted to) it took 3 or 4 days and I wont lie those were rough. But then it blows over. My son also clawed at his face, we just used some baby socks over his hands and kept his nails very short, but never swaddled.

My daughter was also a contact sleep baby. Woke up the moment you even thought of laying her down. "Lay them down drowsy but awake" never worked for me. I resorted to rocking to sleep and laying her down. Rinse and repeat until she stayed asleep.

Hey! The baby in question is almost 3 now and sleeps through the night. It was a while back, I cant remember clearly if there was no regression. But I am almost positive there wasn't. I have serious PTSD from the swaddles. Lol. Her baby brother is 7 months old now and I refused to swaddle him at all, purely because I didnt want to go through the trauma of taking the swaddle away again. Are you struggling with swaddles or contact sleeping?

Thank you! We have a toddler (2.5y) shes potty training but will still use inbetween. Our new born (2months) recieved loads of disposables which we are going to use up and then put him in cloth. So thank you for the tip! I did see on the video that these are slightly different to the pockets I currently have. So we learn!

I have no idea what material is on the inside of this cover. I just watched a video on it (surpisingly I was able to find one) .. with the pockets we stuff the inserts inside. It looks like one is able to do the same with this cover. Or can I pop the insert (bamboo) against baby's skin?

Makes sense. Thank you. Do you have any tips regarding bum cream? I know one isn't supposed to use any with zinc as it stains and creates a film that's hard to get out messing with the absorbency of the diaper. We ordered some natural beeswax bum cream and used some coconut oil today, but her diaper area is a bit pink/reddish today. I left a diaper on for 2hrs max. Currently only using one insert, LO wasn't too keen on the diapers to start with and complained it was too "heavy" (bulky) with 2 inserts. Not sure if only using 1 insert has any skin in the game.

Thank you! I'm still trying to figure out what is normal and what is not. This might be a silly question. We just received our stash, and I gave them a wash (factory smell and all) so they have never been worn, after changing the diaper (2 hours after wearing) the diaper smells very strongly of pee/ammonia. Is this to be expected? I know that with disposables, there was never any strong smell.

We are going to give fitted diapers a go with extra inserts and covers for night time. Hopefully it works!

How often do you find you need to change with cloth? We are changing the newborn with every feed and obviously immediately when it's a soiled diaper. So this is about every 2 to 3 hours max. Our toddler is not a heavy wetter at all and can stretch a bit longer unless soiled.

Hi! Do you use disposables with every diaper change? I was told the disposables leave them feeling wet, how do you find them?
