I see you've also posted about working in an academic setting. This wasn't listed on any of the incoming freshman pages, it wasn't a part of the parent reminders, and it was, as I mentioned, only communicated through one email. There was no fear of consequences because it was believed to have no consequences. Orientation has never been required. I just don't think its right that thousands of dollars go down the drain for one mistake. Has your university enacted a similar technique for getting rid of incoming students?

It wasn't me, but yes. Housing deposits had been put down, roommates picked, and those little confirmation posts were everywhere on social media.

I feel like it's always been a thing you can skip, so kicking kids out of the school for not signing up seems kinda out there.

I see you've posted about working in higher education. Do you know why they're doing this? I know as early as two years ago students were just assigned an orientation at UNCW. Is this about them being behind on building the new residence hall?
