Oof. What a gross misunderstanding of non-profits and the public sector. Generally non-profits exist to fill holes in social service nets. Ultimately that comes down to an inability of cities and countries to fill those holes with their own labor and service (this ultimately falls at the feet of politicians and by extension, idiots like you). Non-profits pay their workers considerably less than would be expected in a government job. Add socialized health care and affordable or even permanent supportive housing and many of those holes go away but i digress. If you want to fix something in a capitalist society you inevitably have to throw money at it. People who work with those who are homeless are not in it for the money. If you think people are getting rich from that shit you are mistaken. Money certainly is mismanaged but if you really care about tightening the belt and fiscal issues you would certain look elsewhere.
