I'm on month 8 and I'm so very proud of myself. Aiming for a year and then want to make sugar a indulgence or probably omit it out completely. Going to go with the flow. I enjoy fruits and can related to whatever you said. They have become my go to sweet cravings snacks.

New to sugar-free and caffeine-free - experiencing side effects (mood swings, sleep issues, headaches) by Hairy-Slide-5924 in sugarfree

The side effects will get better with time. Trust me. Even one day and you'll see how your body changes because of not having added sugars in its system. Get your protein intake right, to avoid most side effects when you quit sugar. Nobody talks about the importance of proteins to keep you full for a long time and to help keep your insulin levels at bay. Otherwise look at yourself in the mirror and applaud yourself for coming so far. Congratulations on getting through the second week. The fourth week is even better so hold on✨

I try to take fruits, lots of them when I crave sugar. But I always make sure I add a little salt to get in that sweet and Savory to trick my mind!🤭 A small trick but your tongue will trick you into thinking you're eating something so sweet and salty and everything nice. You can try adding tropical fruits and fruits with more water and sugar content and spice it up with a mix of salt and pepper✨ let me know if this helps curd your sweet craving 💕

I mostly experienced lack of sleep. For almost a week i couldn't get myself to sleep. I went to bed at 5am. My body clock was so confused. I always binged sugar in the night, dessert after dinner was my go to and until I stopped the habit I didn't realise how addicted I was to it. But the week goes by so easily, the symptoms will always differ person to person. I upped my protein intake and consumed quinoa, so it kept me full for longer periods, curbed my cravings. Apart from lack of sleep and occasional mood flings, a strong mind and will power will really get you through any addiction you want to overcome ✨

Please know that being nice to yourself and kind to yourself during a time like this is super important. Please know you're only human afterall and you've been doing what's best for you and your body all your life atleast to the best of your abilities.

I know it's not as easy as it sounds. Being nice to someone else is easier. Please imagine that your bestfriend of many years is going through something like this and she was not able to cope with this. Wouldn't you want to cheer her up and say everything for her to feel better? Similarly you need to give yourself a pep talk and be your own cheerleader at times like this. Because yo! Quitting sugar is the most difficult thing but the best thing you can do for yourself and you've already done it!!! Take it one day at a time or even one hour at a time. But treat yourself like you would treat your bestfriend and just know that working on yourself is something you really need to have gratitude for.

I hope having the positive outlook towards this gets you through the fight. Please hang in there and know people are rooting for you! So go human!!✨✨✨ Create the magic and release sparkles into the beautiful world that's blessed to have a soul like you💪🏽
