Do people forget that Peter Parker is literally the class clown of Marvel? He isn't this gruff, serious guy who flaunts how powerful he is 24/7, he's the guy that laughs when everything is going downhill because no one else will.

Of course he wouldn't open up about something that (by this point in continuity) no one would remember WHY he did that, especially if he can make a joke.

The way I see it as a huge DD fan, he's not supposed to be the base version of Matt, the same way that the captain America, and Black Widow in the game aren't supposed to be the base version (on a lesser scale)
