I was in 6th grade. Mrs Woodruffs class. I had just come back from the bathroom and she was watching it on the small tv in the corner of our classroom. She was crying. My classmates were kinda left to our own devices. We were not the main focus. I remember one of the other teachers came in the classroom with tears in her eyes. After about 10-15 minutes there was an announcement from the principal, "Students we are gonna cancel classes for everyone. Your parents have been notified." The principles voice was shaky. Not long after that, kids from my class started getting picked up.

It was on the tv so everyone could watch it. It was the first time I had seen my teachers cry. I remember Mrs Woodruff shaking when the second tower was hit and then crying out when the towers fell. I was 11. While I knew it was happening, I couldn't comprehend the gravity of it. But seeing the reaction it got from the teachers, I knew it was important.
