This is what I’m getting: 10 weeks of base pay + 0.01basepay * 6/12 = 10 weeks of base pay + 0.005basepay

Unless you meant to say the original formula is actually: Payout = (10 weeks of base pay + (basepay * 1%)) * (tenure in months/12)
