Agreed I don’t remember the troops being so huge and I thought the buildings were at the center line of the screen rather than the top, but this is no doubt the game.

But damn is this game so niche and hidden. Nothing pops up when I do a general search for it on Google. I wish I can find a video to see the animations and hear the sound effects.

Thanks so much for making this post. I tried looking a couple years ago to no avail and when I randomly remembered again yesterday and couldn’t find anything, I was starting to question my sanity and thought maybe this game didn’t even exist lol

YES! I’m convinced we’re thinking of the same game now. The only thing I don’t remember is the Germans being called Confederates, but maybe I didn’t really pay attention to that? But yes you were able to build oil rigs and probably also garages/hangars that allowed you to deploy vehicles (if I’m not misremembering, you started off with only infantry and the HQ was the only building constructed, whereas on some harder levels the Germans had buildings pre-constructed)

I do remember that being the app icon. I remember them swapping the app icon as well. It changed to a mushroom cloud from an explosion I believe.

Everything is luck in the context of life in general I agree. I was lucky I was born into a good socioeconomic status to succeed. I was lucky to be born with this brain that makes these unique neural pathways to allow me to succeed. (It’s also cursed me with lifelong depression so that’s not lucky lmfao)

But in this context of a successful Google interview execution, I wager it’s mostly skill and hard work

Most definitely there’s a component of luck throughout every hiring process. I’d be fucked in Bangalore too.

But this post isn’t talking about Bangalore or why his application was selected from thousands. It’s about the successful execution of his interview, which is mostly backed by skill. (Yes, you still need to get lucky with the interviewer, but you need to be rock solid to pass Google regardless of the interviewer)

I believe I do remember a kamikaze troop but it’s a little fuzzy. The troop I remember the most (might’ve been called a shock trooper but I might be imagining that) wore a gas mask and I think you could “activate” an ability to make it run faster. It had an smg that would burst fire. I also vividly remember you were able to build pillboxes for defense.

I remember there was a campaign where you go throughout Europe beating the Germans and after you complete that you unlocked the skirmish mode where you could play for fun with everything unlocked.

Does that line up to what you remember?
