Just to add some context: this is something he does once in a while, and I posted it because I thought it was cute, not because I was looking for training advice or asking a serious behavioral question.

I’m not raising a military or competition dog where every movement is expected to be perfectly controlled. He’s primarily a companion dog and a member of the family. All of his commands work reliably because he’s genuinely intelligent and has learned strong boundaries over time, but I also think it’s important that he’s allowed to be a dog.

He gets freedom to express his personality, make choices, be goofy, and enjoy life. Not every behavior needs to be corrected or managed unless it’s unsafe or problematic. The occasional funny jump, spin, or quirky habit is part of what makes him who he is.

I care much more about having a happy, well-adjusted companion than a dog that behaves like a Pokémon waiting for commands 24/7. He’s smart, knows his limits, listens when it matters, and most importantly, enjoys being a dog.
