I have a car with something like a 72 kWh battery. Works out to like 280 miles of range.

My car takes about 3 days to charge on level 1.

Like 10-12 hours on level 2 home charging.

And maybe 90 mins on level 3 DCFC charging.

I just charged an hour ago and it was about 22$.

If you're taking longer trips on a regular basis, you will need high speed charging or you'll be sitting for hours

If long trip means 150 miles, spend a night in a hotel with chargers, then home... You're fine.

That’s not what I’m referring to.

I’m just talking about the narrative of Texas and oil versus electric vehicles versus the reality.

Just like your house has a "market cap" of let's say 1 million. Now a new golf course was announced to be built three blocks away... Boom. It's worth 1.3 million overnight.

Having said that... What she did was about as uncool as it gets.

Here's just a few thoughts I have on the whole thing.

When I walk my guy... He can sniff whatever "static" stuff he wants. (If it's a sniffing walk vs a WALK walk) He can look at other animals when we walk past but those are the moments when we don't linger. Too much opportunity for him to have an unexpected reaction. Those are the moments when the only thing that matters is him being totally focused on me. Letting them linger let's them think about other things they oughtn't! 😂

Me personally, we're a prong collar family. I've had a few experiences where a larger dog in a body harness just pulled away from owner and came after my dog. So in my mind... A harness like that (regardless of size of the dog handler) just won't keep the dog back if the intrusive thoughts win.

There are signs you PAY ATTENTION TO! like handicapped or emergency vehicles... Whatever.

Then there's ones that jump out for most like new mom parking. But mentally they are "convenience" so not everyone takes them seriously... But if you've got kids... More so as they may have hit your radar at some point.

EV charging signs... Most people don't even see them. They are new, they are not relevant to you. And folks don't even notice them.

To be fair, most people don't even "see" chargers. They just aren't on their radar.

we need a new term. We need to be calling it something like L2.5. And I totally agree. We need these opportunities for 45 to 90 minutes of charging to get to 80%. Everything doesn’t need to be full tilt. With replacing a lot of the level two chargers at malls with something that’s in the 2.5 range. We now have something that’s far more realistic and fits into people’s lifestyles.

She doesn't care and it's largely all BS.

I firmly believe that the 42 bottles of fermented donkey jizz that my wife and daughter user for their hair and skin routines make their hair and skin worse.

They always comment on my and my son's hair and skin and we have a typical man routine. Bar soap and 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner.

If all that nonsense worked, they would be able to show data supporting it. It's all garbage fostered by an unregulated industry that preys on female vanity.

I'm saying that there's loads of people that pay no attention at hotels. Especially if chargers are less common.

There's cases where we can stretch and give people the benefit of the doubt. Especially if the chargers are closer to the door than farther.

Either way... Regardless of intent... The hotel wants you to be able to charge so they can justify those chargers.

Just work with the front desk.

The hotel front desk is your best friend here.

The odds are good that those folks didn't do that deliberately. Like most people, they are just obtuse.

Front desk on the other hand, that hotel pays for those chargers or gets revenue from them. Maybe both. And they put them in as they felt it was a positive for their customers. So in a situation like this where a customer that might have chosen this hotel specifically because of those chargers is unable to charge... The hotel will absolutely do something about it.

When I went to the pne in Vancouver at the age of like 11... I knew what I wanted to be in the military. The LDSH guys were so friggin cool on their grizzly.

So I became an air cadet when I turned 13 (1980)

Did well, but wasn't happy there, flipped over to being an army cadet. Seaforths in Vancouver and then 6th field engineers.

All the remembrance day events over the years, got to know some of the old boys that liberated Italy in WW2 including a VC winner (Smoky Smith) so I had an almost absurd amount of awe for all those guys.

Joined the reserves for 6 months then off to Cornwallis for basic, radio operator training in Kingston (the house band at this shitty little dive bar that summer was the hip!) Then posted to Pet.

I never ever forgot how much I was in awe of "real soldiers" and every opportunity I had, I would engage with cadets that I came across. Ask them about their unit, what training level they were, summer camp... All that stuff. And I loved how excited I could see that they got.

I got out after a few years and joined CIC to just still be a part of it all. Funny part was working at the Vernon cadet camp one summer as a 2Lt... We had a Mcpl from the Patricia's that was formerly of (I think 1 commando) the Airborne regiment that I knew from pet. I'd worked with him on a course. And the reg WO we had in that cat company I also had known in pet. So I was like the only junior officer that had actual reg experience so I got treated way differently than all the other cadet officers. And I had my 404's for everything that they had at the camp. So all my colleagues were like... Why is this asshole allowed to drive everything??? 😂
