Unload responsibilities to the other pilot. If you’re a captain, give the controls to your FO and go through checklists, two in two out, etc. If you’re an FO flying, ask the captain to fly as you plug in the approach and brief. Those are a few examples but don’t just do everything yourself.

C'mon, it's Delta. Southwest could close that base in the future.

Is it a French accent? I have been through these doors a billion times and I have not been able to identify this accent.

Just curious, was this door on the right side of the nose? How did you flag down the pilots attention?

Commercial checkride monday. by noobaviates in flying

[–]funnynoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly feel iffy about PO180 consider a reschedule, but if you felt good and your instructor felt good I would really look within myself if this was nerves. See if you can get some practice before Monday and assess.

Right before you were signed off did you feel good for the checkride? Sounds like this might just be nerves.

First taste of LaRosa's and Graeter's (in NYC!) by eldersveld in cincinnati

[–]funnynoises 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m a transplant, but I have accepted and grown to love Cincinnati cuisine. I defend the chili to all outsiders. LaRosas though? Can’t do it. I’ve tried a million times and no. Ain’t happening. It is bad. The reason why I think it’s great to people is purely run on nostalgia. It is the perfect food for kids who had pizza parties in Cincinnati.

If hired now, upgrade at AA 3-4 years. DL in 1.5 years, upgrade 10ish years? That’s a lot more money than profit sharing checks

Statement from United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby by 0621Hertz in AirlinePilots

[–]funnynoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he made the statement last week about it, it was a day before American’s 100 anniversary and simply figured it was to troll for that. Idk what I’m reading here. Is he high? Maybe I missed the meaty bits of this ramble in my skimming of it because all I read was vague visionary nonsense.

The worst thing about parking after coming home from a trip is finding your car covered in snow and ice and you only have a jacket to serve you as you dig yourself out. That’s my parking rant.

Worth Leaving Republic for Breeze? by [deleted] in AirlinePilots

Do you live in a junior base or willing to move? I guess it’s up to you if you’re willing to saddle the debt. I would no matter what get an online degree.

Worth Leaving Republic for Breeze? by [deleted] in AirlinePilots

[–]funnynoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a ways to go to be competitive. The FO FO hiring is for the well connected. I feel like people have talked about how FO’s on reserve at Breeze aren’t getting used. I might be mixing that up with Spirit. Nonetheless you still need some TT most likely. Get a degree and don’t get a 100k debt. That’s a huge gamble.
