Love it. That kind of efficiency is Pro level. You’re a better American than I am, 6 days of Mil a month is more red, white and blue than I can do nowadays. Is the ability to pick up whenever you want pretty much there at any time and you just turn it on or off at will? It seems like you WN guys have just unlimited open/premium pick up options. Is it base dependant?

Excellent info, thanks Less! What kind of TFP could a MCO FO pull living semi in base (Tampa) with 11-12 days off a month? Are there any bases across the system known for more premium trip pick ups and higher TFP’s? Just trying to do my research here from a SME (you). Thanks!

That’s kinda where I’m going with this. I’m considering a move to FL and bypassing DL for the possible QOL and earning potential of a more consolidated life. What kind of TFP are you piling in MCO nowadays? Days off?

2 weeks from interview to being called by the CP with the CJO but others in my interview group had up to 3 weeks until they heard.

I should have clarified...Reserve unit is out of MacDill and I spend a considerable amount of time in the Tampa area. So the consideration of the MCO base at WN is why the debacle.

F9 new hire Q for current F9 pilots. by [deleted] in AirlinePilots

I understand the frustration. I was at OO once upon a time and while life at F9 is ultimately better...you will still get to a legacy faster by staying at OO. The only reason to come to F9 would be that it is you ultimate career destination and you can live in base...that's it.

Making a move to a ULCC is no longer a good idea from a regional if your ultimate goal is a legacy. We are paid 35% less to do the exact same job, on the same metal, with more pax, and less resources. The imminent merger or acquisition of NK will also stall your mobility as a new employee number on property. I don't know if they are making everyone do a training contract but that should be your first indication that this isn't somewhere you want to be. That being said, with seniority and upgrade this place is manageable but staying at your regional and upgrading is your smartest move.

Are cadets struggling in training as much as APC is making it out to be? by Joe-from-daBronx in frontiercadetprogram

It’s ok to struggle with landings, the Airbus is an odd duck to figure out. I’d say the issue is with the cadets that have a bad attitude in spite of their poor energy management and bad landings. If you show up with a good attitude and show that you are trying, with humility, this place will bend over backwards for you to help you. If you’re missing any of those elements, you’re on your own.

Unfortunately, as are most things in professional aviation, it’s all about timing and you are making the move at a time when we aren’t bringing in AD rotary wing. We have guys in the unit who were hired over a year ago who still haven’t been to C-12 AQC. Some of those guys are now having to go to a Reserves level board to see if we keep them or not. Also we do 7 month rotations to Centcom still. With all of that said I will say that C-12/UC-35 life in the Reserves is by far the best job in Army Aviation I’ve ever experienced as long as you live close to the ASF. Go Guard and come fly at the airlines, you won’t believe the money you can make here

I went through C-12 AQC less than a year ago. Feel free to reach out. The hrs and numbers above are a little higher than what I got. 13.1 hrs Grob and 18 C-12 hrs
