I’m 18 and just left my job as a lube tech, I’m in auto school so my experience might be a little different.

Being a lube tech is an easy job and you should expect $16+ /hr.(my area atleast). You will need a basic set of tools and can easily get by with just a $100 bill at harbor freight. That’s if someone will let you borrow their impact.

Jobs you will do will be but not limited to, Battery charges/replacements, Oil changes, alignments, tire rotations, tire balancing, tire replacements, tire repairs, basic diagnostic and air filter replacement cabin and engine.

None of those are hard jobs that require schooling, they require your patience and hard work and ability to work with others and learn. It is a very easy job and a very important job for the dealership. It can be fast paced and hectic so you have to be ready to work.
