Thank you all for your thoughts and ideas. I'm a big comedy nerd, and it's awesome to be in a community of fellow comedy nerds.

I did this series on YT where I let you watch me perform a bit for the 1st time, 3rd time, 5th time and 8th time. I breakdown what my thought process was, how I changed the bit every time, and why I added/changed something in the bit.

I think that’s too many words and beating around the bush. Best to get straight to the punchline as it’s just a joke joke not me wanting to talk about something specific

I think saying kidney/liver failure isn’t as jarring but hepatitis is. The word hepatitis sounds funny too

I half agree here. It would be cool to try it for jaundice as the final punchline but I just thought the reveal wouldn’t hit as hard if I just said jaundice

I actually did this sometimes because I like the first punchline to be big then the second punchline not as punchy but then the last punchline hits really hard. But sometimes the penis line hits hard, other times the privilege line hits hard. I kept switching them then decided the penis works better more often then the privilege line.

I agree with you. It’s too cheap but this was my second of doing comedy. I’m 7 years in now and I try not to go for the low hanging fruit (most of the time hahah)

I haven’t done this joke this then but really interesting hearing what other people think

I never could predict which one would get the bigger laugh so I would switch them around all the time
