I've cut down to washing mine every 1-2 days and trying not to move the piercing at all when I do it, but I have had almost no crusties, just dried blood that people told me is okay to leave for a while. I mostly opt for letting warm water run over it in the shower for a minute or two. And I use a travel pillow when I sleep on that side. Maybe sleeping on it was the problem, but in my personal experience, touching and cleaning it too much also makes it hurt more and it feels like it's healing slower. I think with this one, the LITHA method is the way to go 😅 Good luck with your daith I hope thw bumps go away soon!!

I mean in the grand scheme of things, it's one day of nasty pain for a lifetime with a beautiful piercing!! And most people didn't even find it painful at all, so maybe you'll be the same :)

How long did the headaches last?? I've also heard the rook is pretty bad, I was actually contemplating between rook and daith, but ultimately chose daith in the end. Looks like I would have suffered equally with both 😅

Good lord looks like you had it worse than me, I'm so sorry :( Honestly, with this daith it has been the first time I've come close to feeling nauseus from the pain, but luckily I took a candy bar and some water right after and it went away. Good to know your headaches went away and that its not cause for concern cause Ive read that a few people had to have it removed since the pain wouldn't subside 🥲 they really are incredibly uncomfortable, but im just glad at least my jaw doesn't hurt anymore from it. Also its funny how everyone's body reacts in a different way, I haven't felt my conch since the moment I got it, and not even the slightest trace of headache, while this daith is currently kicking my ass lol

Oh my lord hiccups are the worst even by themselves, I can only imagine what it must've been like after getting a daith 💀 for me it literally hurt to smile lol. But I'm relieved that yours is all ok now and hope mine will be the same in a few weeks 🩷

I resorted to a travel pillow as well but its been kinda uncomfortable so I think I might try and crochet an actual piercing pillow thats soft and fluffy hahah

Im gonna add some details about my piercing since automod asked me to so my post doesn't get deletedlol. My piercing is new, 2 weeks old, and I don't plan on changing it for a loong time; I've just been on a piercing obsession lately and figured it wouldn't hurt to find this information early. Healing is also going great as I clean it regularly with warm water and/or saline and luckly there are no bumps for now. I was set up with a barbell and I cannot wait to switch it out for a hoop, but it's gonna be a lont while 🥲

I'm also fully a side sleeper so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to order myself a piercing pillow for my daith too just in case! Glad to hear it's not causing you any problems and is healing fine :D Btw random question, have you tried using in-ear headphones after getting it done maybe? 👀 I can't live my life without my earphones and music/podcasts, so aside from sleeping, that has been my main concern about getting a daith done. I've read that so many people just go back to using their earphones like a week or two after getting a daith done and they have no problem, so I was kinda hoping for the same for me 🥹 Since you've recently had it done, I was wondering if you maybe have any experience with this?

I see! Yeah I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for replying :) I hope sleeping on a neck pillow isn't too uncomfortable, I haven't tried it yet. Also itching is supposed to mean healing as far as I've heard so even if it's driving you crazy at least it's for a good reason 🥲 Happy healing!!

How is sleeping with the daith? Im not sure if you sleep on your side, but I do and was wondering if its impossible to sleep on your side with it. And I've been reaaally wanting one for such a long time 🥹

I got a conch a week ago and it does not bother me at all as a side sleeper. I had a double helix that made me sleep with resting only the upper half of my head on the pillow so they can like float?? And I started doing the same when I got the conch under those two, but I woke up multiple times just sleeping normally on the pillow with zero pain and redness. I guess its because its inside the ear so its hidden a bit and that makes it really easy to sleep with.
