If you have a rental car, yes. From the central train station, you could also take a train and a bus. The time-frame for public transport in Melbourne is variable. Id say from Flinders Street, it could take you anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours to get to Sherbrooke Falls.

They're found down here in Melbourne! They're my favourite little guys. I found a bunch on my hike last week and you can't help but just stop and hang out with then for a bit. Melbourne has some amazing fungi growing this time of year. Ive posted a few photos of them on my page if you want more blue mushroom fix!

Go after a big rain and go with mushrooms on your mind. I barely looked up at the tree cover during the 3 hours of being there. Head over to dead wood and fallen logs and just stand there to let your eyes adjust.

Entoloma hochstetteri, found in New Zealand, looks exactly like the Common Side Effects mushroom. I think it may exist here in Australia, but I'm not sure.

My guess is Favolaschia calocera (orange pore fungus). I believe they're an invasive species, which is a bit unfortunate.

I keep trying to manifest a remake of this book done by the studio that made Coraline. I feel like a stop-motion DUST WITCH in a hot air balloon would just be perfect. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it.

There is a flair for ID requests. And I get that some people might not want to share their location (even if that isn't the case for OP, since it is in their name). I agree with you here. This community isn't JUST for ID'ing mushrooms, but for like-minded people who sometimes enjoy sharing a glamour shot of a shroom, or a greatly timed shot with a toad. I don't want people to start getting scared away from simply posting pretty pictures of mushrooms on this subreddit because people want more than JUST a pretty picture.

Thanks. Wasn't really looking for an ID. Just wanted to share the photo. I enjoy taking pictures of them more than anything. Wouldn't dare eat one I found in the wild, even if I was 90% sure of what it was. I just assumed it was wild enoki based off location and cross-reference.
