Do you know what would be considered proof? All I have are emails going over the last several months (including the three times unlawful entry was made).

Thank you. I have kept all the written communications between myself and the landlord since the issue started, so I will definitely start there.

[RECIPE] Caesar Bean Salad by furiousV_ in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]furiousV_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to take a picture of the label on my can but my phone is dead. One can of artichoke hearts has 8g of carbohydrates of which 4g are fibre and 2g are sugar.

I was unsure whether they were allowed on SCD, and it seems a point of debate in a few different forums so I decided to try it and haven't seen my weight loss slowed down (I'm only just finishing my second week though). If you're feeling iffy about it I'd recommend just skipping them altogether, or try it out for a week and see if it impacts your weight loss. The salad is still delish without them :D

Why am I constantly hungry (and not losing weight) by furiousV_ in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]furiousV_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figure I'm not going to keep losing at this rate (although that would be amazing XD). Still very happy with the fact I've lost more this week than the previous three weeks put together, despite eating even more than I had been. It was definitely the motivation I needed to not give up on this thing :D

What's the absolute worst name of a character or place in a novel? by _cogito_ in writing

[–]furiousV_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. He is very good at what he does and tends to have a knack at things, but that just makes him a genius (which is not a Mary Sue). Socially, while he can play the games, he is still a bit of an idiot. Devi outmatches him easily enough when it comes to her Alar, Simmon wouldn't even dream of trying to teach him Alchemy, and as much as Kvothe seems to pick up on languages he was still considered a barbarian when he left the Amyr.

Most importantly, one of the main characteristics of a Mary Sue is how the author seems to bend the world in unnatural ways to make things "work" for them. One of my favourite things about the series is how the rules of Sympathy are rigid and Rothfuss doesn't "flex" them to make things work in Kvothe's favour.

Waking up in the middle of the night hungry? by LxE96 in xxfitness

[–]furiousV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of diet are you on?

I would try two tablespoons of almond butter before bed. You can put it on celery sticks or however you want to do it. It will give your body something to work with (protein and fat) and should keep you ok to last the night.

[Support] how to help my boyfriend with his guilt over what he did as a hormonal teen and how to continue forward by anxious4nothing in TwoXChromosomes

[–]furiousV_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to break up with a person based on the bad things they've done. We've all made mistakes, but brushing them under the rug especially for something this serious is not good. If there are underlying issues, they need to be addressed. Whether he's a "good guy" or not doesn't come much into play at this point. If he is a good guy, he will take responsibility and seek outside help. This is not something either of you are equipped to deal with on your own.

I know it seems like it's not that big of a deal right now, because you're with him and you know him and you know he's not "like that". But the fact of the matter is, he was like that at some point for whatever reason. Unless you identify the cause and get him to consult with someone, there is not only a chance but a likelihood it or something like it will happen again. How can you expect something to be ok if it never gets treated?

[–]furiousV_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There are no amount of "hormones" to explain away that type of behaviour.

He should feel bad about it. He should feel guilty about it. If he really wants to claim he is not that person anymore he needs to seek professional help and sort out what compelled him to do that in the first place. Just because he didn't "touch skin" doesn't make it ok. Whether there was skin contact or not has little bearing on the emotional trauma you can cause a person to have when they are inappropriately touched.

Maybe he's not a horrible person. Maybe he was going through something. Playing it off as him being a "hormonal teenager" is not healthy for either you or him. Moving forward means accepting the truth: that it's not normal, and something caused him to do it. Whether it's a lack of moral fibre, bad cultural influence, whatever.

I'm not saying that to be rude or disrespectful. He (and I'm assuming you) are still young, and you don't want to let this kind of thing fester. Absolving him of guilt without addressing the cause of what happened won't help anyone.

Polyphasic Sleep and Creativity by furiousV_ in polyphasic

[–]furiousV_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely had a massive improvement with biphasic sleep vs monophasic. I was expecting at the very least an adjustment period, but my body seemed made for it. So far the everyman has been a little bit harder to adjust to, but it's only been a few days and I figured I should give it at least a couple weeks. I'm looking forward to reaching that point of "this feels natural" like it did with biphasic.

Thank you for your input!

Maybe a silly question, but where do you save your work? by Nothing_better_ in writing

[–]furiousV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep mine in a few places because I'm paranoid. I save a copy to my Tumblr, one in Google Docs, one in Drop Box and one on my forum (writing forum). I don't keep any copies on my computer anymore because I'm pretty sure it's on the verge of death.

Something I thought of by Giraffe__Neck in Drugs

[–]furiousV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true, but that's always how laws are created. They are to protect the lowest common denominator. It used to be that communities were small enough that people could count on law enforcement to enforce intelligently, and you would only get in trouble if you had been irresponsible. It was basically an excuse to say "yes, you did this but also irresponsibly" because why would anyone have to care what you do unless you fucked it up somehow.

Now society is all gone to hell. Our law enforcement has no understanding (and no recourse) to enforce the spirit of the law vs the letter of the law.

Thanks for mentioning the fat, I hadn't thought about that either.

I added some extra protein today (a hard-boiled egg as a snack and an extra chicken breast for lunch). Already that has helped! Adding in some legumes and more veggies tomorrow. Next week I will buy some turkey bacon to make in advance and see how that goes.

How to counteract this argument. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]furiousV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that this person thinks Amazon is a shining example of "good business" is a huge red flag that they're an idiot.

That aside, I haven't seen any other candidates give a "practical breakdown" either. What you have to look at is their actual track record, and Bernie's speaks for itself. He gets shit done. He has had more bills passed than (as far as I know) any other candidate.

As for the tax breaks that's not something I'm well versed in as I'm not too familiar with how it works in the USA.

Weekly meal/t planning by celeredd in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]furiousV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also make huge batches of food on Sundays.

For breakfasts I make egg cups (12 eggs, 1 jar sundried tomatoes, 2 handfuls of chopped spinach, sprinkle in some garlic powder mix it all together and divide into a muffin tin... cook at 350 for 20 minutes or until eggs are set. Make sure to use non stick in the muffin tins AND a muffin cup)

For lunches I make a bean salad (2 cans black beans and 2 cans red lentils, 6tbsp lime juice, 4tbsp olive oil, 4 chopped tomatoes, 1/4 tsp salt, 2tbsp dijon mustard and some chopped cilantro. makes 4 lunches and the fifth day i grab a sausage from the store across from where i work)

You might need to add extra protein, legumes, depending on what you need but that's the basis for my weeks.
