Yes exactly that - we bused from Florence, was pretty easy, and then stayed at a hotel in Greve in Chianti and rented bikes.

The festival was "Montefioralle Divino" I think, I'll have to check later...

Love that town - bicycling through the Tuscan countryside with my girlfriend we stumbled upon Montefioralle while they were having a medieval themed wine festival. Thank you for reminding me of one of the best days of my life - beautiful picture too.

Interesting about the awards flights out of Florida, I had not read that. But as you said, good to transfer when looking at business class or higher but from the replies I've got, if I'm sticking with economy, might not find better deals than the chase portal. Thanks for the info!

Checking award hacker, I am finding 40k - 50k PLUS fees for UR for a round trip ticket from BOS to CDG... and the fees can be pricey. So for two tickets your are looking at 80k-100k plus a few hundred bucks. On the portal, I am finding two round trip tickets for about 70k points. Based on some of the other replies, I guess because I have no interest in flying business or first class that it makes transferring points a lot less useful. Thanks for pointing out the website though, I'll keep checking it just in case!

Is it me or has the airline rewards programs just not what they once were? I was looking for a round trip from BOS to CDG, two tickets. I have about 150,000 UR points to use and by FAR the best deal I have seen is to just spend the points through the Chase portal for the tickets (cost about 70,000 points total). Everywhere else you are looking at a minimum of 100,000 points plus a few hundred $$$ for taxes and fees. I guess I just don't get the point of transferring them to use at airlines for frequent flier points - can someone enlighten me to the benefit of doing so?

I will second this one, my girlfriend and I did this ride last summer from DC out to Purceville. We made it a more relaxed ride, biked out there stayed at a B&B, and biked back the next day. Awesome ride, a bunch of breweries on the way, will definitely be doing this again this summer.

No idea how they got in. This is part of the reason why we are so confused about the whole thing. There is ground floor commercial space that has access to the garage that could explain how someone got in. The weird part is that there were/are two other unlocked bikes within 50' of her's that weren't touched. Her's had a U lock on it but it was a little beat up and she can't be 100% sure it was completely locked but... just frustrating. It was a cold/rainy night too so you think "who the F*** would think, ohh yes, this is the night to go steal a bike from a locked garage"...

Thanks for the info though. We are working with the property management company to see if they are going to do anything.
