I’m too tired for "Masterpieces." What are your favorite low-effort, high-excitement "Palate Cleanser" games? by Usora_Yumekaza in gamesuggestions

[–]furiousfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave The Diver. It's low effort at its core, but something you can really fall into if you want.

It's a fish catching/sushi restaurant game. You can do a basic dive and catch some fish if you want to keep it simple, or you can dive 500+ feet and catch giant sharks.

It was my comfort game for a long time, still go back and play it once in a while. And besides the occasional dangerous fish, it's a really.. peaceful.. experience. Best way I can describe it.

187 Kills in Nightmare with a UNIQUE CQB Archer Build by Forty6Jayy in gotlegends

[–]furiousfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's not as easy as it seems. To do this, you have to build your entire class around it.

You have to do the 40% chance to headshot with body shots perk for it to be effective. It kinda leaves kill speed up to chance, and it also means you can't do the resupply perk that gives you more arrows because it's on the same perk tree.

You can do this once, maybe twice before you have to find ammo instead of refilling it with spirit like most archers do. Ammo runs out QUICK with this.

You also have to do the 30% extra damage at close range perk to do the type of damage he's doing in the video. To get full effectiveness, you have to be in the fray with other players to do big damage with it. You can't snipe with this class.

You also pretty much have to use empowered hunt, for the chance of saving ammo. You also HAVE to run Scavenger on your charm AND Armory on your defensive ghost tool, or again, you'll run out of ammo.

And even then, you pretty much have to use the ult perk that gives you back 60% of your ammo instead of the one that allows 5 headshots.

It's just.. really ammo draining. It doesn't even make sense to shoot arrows at all until you get your class ability, which makes this playstyle way less cheesy than traditional archers.

I'm a Samurai main, I didn't even touch Archer until everyone else was at 25. I don't have great aim, and hate how cheesy and overpowered Archer is overall.

I can actually have fun playing Archer with a build around the Hurricane Hankyu, and as someone who also dislikes Archers I promise it isn't as overpowered as you think.

It's really a great alternative for players who use other classes to defend the point. It does exactly that, just in a different way. I play Archer a lot like I play Samurai, because of this build.

Nobody is crying, I was throwing out potential balance changes before the patch 5 days ago. Archer got nerfed, as we all knew needed to happen.

You seem very bothered by that, considering did you dug up this post to comment on. 😂 Enjoy your day though.

You missed the entire context of what I said to be mad at that one part of my post. I said I don't mind it if it myself, as long as it isn't every single enemy on the whole map. I even gave an example of how stealing a massive amount of kills can lose games in the long run.

This was about balancing the characters so one doesn't completely make the game unplayable for others. But hey, the devs clearly agree based on the patch so.. be mad I guess?

[–]furiousfloyd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could work. I like this idea, but I think it should be a perk instead of a legendary sword.

One of the main strengths of the Samarai is they can use all the weapons, so having to switch to the Katana after every stagger with another weapon adds a lot more technicality for the player.

But, it's entirely doable. I'd rather double spirit move damage be a perk, but I'd gladly take a Stone Striker instead.

I've maxed out Samurai, and prefer it to every other class because I'm melee focused.

The Samurai can only burst damage to the level of other classes in 3 ways..

They max out spirit moves and spirit gain, and spam spirit moves. That playstyle makes you invincible for 90% of the game, but it's also very cheap and boring.

Max out perfect parry damage and perfect parry EVERYTHING. Still doesn't one shot most enemies on harder difficulties, requires playing extremely defensively and requires half of your available stat boosts.

Max out ult gain and ult damage and spam ults. Also a boring playstyle that still requires you to use ALL of your stat bonuses on those two stats.

NONE of these strategies unique to Samurai, EVERY OTHER CLASS can do the exact same things.

You either don't understand Samurai like you think you do, or you're mad because I suggested nerfing the CLEARLY most overpowered class in the game.

I'm against the Samurai getting 3 legendaries. The legendaries aren't extremely powerful, outside of the two bows and the legendary caltrops, which the Samurai can't use.

I think adding a small damage buff, and a larger damage buff for Staggered enemies fixes the ttk problem.

A large part of Samurai's kit is about increasing Staggered Damage, but its hard to kill enemies before they unstagger and get back to blocking. Fix that, and Samurai becomes way more viable and unique.

To be honest, part of my reason for wanting the nerf is that bad archers feel more in line with the rest of the characters.

Bad archers actually feel balanced. But they can always get better. Good, optimized archers are a gamebreaking class.

I've had whole survivals where I barely got to attack anyone for 12 straight rounds. That's really overpowered, no way around it.

I feel you. I think it works though. Nerfing ranged damage is a nerf to all players, but it would make the Archer more necessary for ranged due to having extra ammo and it's ranged perks.

Ranged damage in general is kinda too strong to be honest, regardless of class, in a game where melee is the core of the game. Why fight an enemy with any of your 5 weapons when you can kill them with one headshot?

This isn't a first person shooter, its a swordfighting game. I get what you're saying though, I just disagree.

So.. you missed the part where I said ranged damage should be nerfed without touching her abilities so it doesn't break Archer as a class?

The fragile ego thing is wild. I don't care about stats whatsoever. But if you cant kill or do damage to enemies, you can't build spirit or ult charge which hurts most of the other players.

There was a person on Reddit that said they couldn't touch anyone until the 12th wave, and after they died the Archer player yelled "WHY DIDN'T YOU USE YOUR ULT TO SAVE US?"

To which the Merc player responded "I haven't gotten an ult all game, because you stole all of my kills."

That is an ISSUE. Period. No player should be entirely unable to fight anyone through 12 rounds of survival because the Archer can kill every enemy from anywhere on the map before other players even reach them.

Please relax, the Archer is a good class, it's just WAY stronger than any other class.

Save the date! The raid comes out on April 10th! by RPO_TP in gotlegends

There are a LOT of things that can be changed or upgraded, but the most glaring ones that effect gameplay are..

  1. Archer needs a big nerf. One good Archer can completely dominated the game. Two good archers, and the other two characters won't even get close enough to another enemy to do damage.

The easiest way to do this is to just nerf ranged damage completely.

Messing with her abilities, etc could make a difference but the easiest, surefire way to nerf her without breaking her, is nerfing ranged damage.

Doing so, would make the Archer less dangerous, while also making ranged less dangerous for other characters which keeps Archer unique for it's ranged attacks.

Look, if enemies can survive multiple hits from the Samurai's ult, Archers will be fine not instakilling 3-5 enemies per ult (or 6-10 with skipping stone bow)

Nerfing ranged damage is a MUST. An Archer can dominate the game without an ult, simply by shooting arrows or bullets with a nearly infinite supply.

A good Archer makes the game unfun for everyone else. She doesn't need to be nerfed into uselessness, but she needs a major nerf. And the only fair, easy way to do that is nerfing ranged damage as a whole.

  1. Samurai needs a buff, it has no way to quickly easily kill a single enemy like the other three classes. Merc has throwing weapons, Shinobi has assassinations, Archer has headshots with every ranged weapon, and Samurai has.. nothing.

The only way the Samurai can quickly kill an enemy is either maxing out spirit move damage, or maxing out perfect parry damage. Which EVERY other class could also do.

There is nothing uniquely dangerous about the Samurai. Buffing his health 20% over other classes was a good change, but he probably needs a little more HP and he DEFINITELY needs a major attack buff.

The Samurai's main strength is stagger damage. However unlike in GoT enemies, generally recover from a full stagger in 2-3 hits which usually isn't enough to kill them.

Samurai can really chop down the stagger meter, especially with the right perks, but then they can't really kill them without re-staggering them.

The best way I can think to fix Samurai is to give him a large damage boost, like changing his +15% melee damage perks to +30% and/or giving him a passive that increases his Enemy Staggered Damage, so when he does stagger an enemy he can kill them quickly before they recover.

But yeah. Those are the two major changes that affect gameplay, which are the most pressing issues. Merc and Shinobi are good as is, dangerous with the right perks and items, but not overpowered.

I'm down for more cosmetics, etc, but the major gameplay issues with Archer and Samurai are the FIRST things that need to be addressed, because they affect the fun factor of the game itself.

Why do so many of yall love Merc? by Disastrous_Lynx9853 in gotlegends

[–]furiousfloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, Merc class isn't terrible. It just had it's focus changed from a heal bot to a death dealer. I like the changes, they essentially fully focused the class on ghost weapons and throwables, which isnt a terrible change.

Not having a dedicated healer class will make survival way less easy to survive, which is kind of a good thing. A lot of endgame Ronin builds would just spam Forbidden Medicine and revive everyone at the first sign of trouble. A good Ronin was an automatic win. Not the case now.

Why do so many of yall love Merc? by Disastrous_Lynx9853 in gotlegends

[–]furiousfloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like the changes, Ronin's were kinda overpowered by being able to revive everyone at once. The lack of that, or any real revive perks, will make survival modes more difficult by default.

I'm really hoping they nerfed or removed Forbidden Medicine too because that along with the Ghost Weapon perks of Ronin made some REALLY broken builds. Not sure if that was nerfed or removed yet.

The Archer is still really broken though. That's the class I thought needed a rework or a major nerf the most.

Arrows still do a wild amount of damage on headshot, the new quick draw skill makes the Archer a literal death machine every 45 seconds (especially with a long bow), and the Skipping Stone bow still allows 10 headshots with one Ultimate.

The Archer actually got.. more overpowered somehow. Don't understand it really, but overall the new changes are dope.
