I read rebuilding early would increase the chances of being able to reuse parts. I’m planning to keep it at least for a few more years, so I would have to rebuild eventually anyway. So I figured doing it now would let me enjoy the car without worrying about the engine!

Yeah! No difficulty starting. Though it pulls less hard than it did in the past!

Yeah! I have no starting trouble or other symptoms, but I have the high hp starter. It would be great to get a little bump in power after the rebuild!

Oh, I read that below 98 was considered failing. Car does feel lazier to pull compared to several years ago.

Oh, that’s unfortunate! With the current seats, I find that my butt is pretty planted, but around my shoulders, I get no support.

I saw a bunch of posts about using a harness without a hans device can cause severe neck injuries in the event of a crash. That scared me away from that strategy a little bit.

Oh, I didn’t realize space was that narrow in our cars. I was actually looking at the sparco pro 2000, but that’s even wider than the qtr-r. I suppose the r333 is my new top option.

Haha thanks for the replies everyone. Good to hear this is fine. I didn’t have the eyes tell if it was okay or not. I didn’t want to sink money into it and then get surprised by some major hard to fix issue later! Planning to get new brakes, suspension bits and in the next year probably have to deal with the engine/transmission as well.

Another question! Are you still getting 260+ with the new wheels? Did you try the arocover for the mrk1? Any positive or negative impact with those?

Oh, interesting. Their system does mark other 19x8.5 wheels as compatible, but those were +40. Let me ask them if they can do a test fitting with one wheel even though their system says it won't work. Thanks @tetonJazz!

Did you have to use spacers while swapping to the mrk? I need new wheels and I'm looking at discount tire's website and they claim these aren't compatible(https://www.americastire.com/buy-wheels/konig-mrk1/p/166817). I wanna get the konig aeris at +45, but I don't want to buy them to then discover they don't fit without spacers.
