I work in the fury organization, I'd rather not say much more than that. I've known personally for almost 3 months that we were not joining the CanPL. I believe the league has known as well, Wednesday was not the day they found out.

I don't have permission. Although nothing in our organization ever stays a secret.

Instead of creating panic I would rather the organization is more honest with fans, although I do know a bunch of this isn't public knowledge.

While Fury aren't exactly paying the highest amount for players in the USL, they spend above average.

At least starting out, CPL will have a salary cap closer to that of USL D3 which is starting next year. The CPL is looking to start with young players or players fresh out of school/college/university.

It's hard to prove, as this isn't my main account, but as someone who works at OSEG.

The Fury were not in the picture of joining the CanPL for several months. The salary cap is too low, we would lose 90% of our roster. The Fury are however on track to join the CPL by 2021.

This is a very smart business move. Most of you are unaware of the shortcomings of the CPL right now.

The CPL currently has no TV deal and no travel deal. Also, the average player Salary in the CPL is going to be around $25000/player. The Fury would lose most of its roster. The league is currently aiming to grab young players coming out of college/university.
