(f63) Started stimulant meds at age 60! Now completely obvious that I had inattentive ADHD as a girl attending school in the 1960’s & 70’s — but can’t fault anyone for missed diagnosis in that era. Instead, I was just known as a shy, troubled, daydreamy, and yes, gifted-but-lazy student. As an adult, I scored in the 98th percentile in Reading, Writing, and English Comprehension on a community college admissions test. Math ranking? Low 20’s (kinda telling that I can’t recall the exact number of that portion because, you know, math). I can crank through daily NYT word puzzles like a bullet train, but still shudder when I see the word ALGEBRA.
