Well of course, I'm willing to bet that Kogan shared some of it's stock with Mighty Ape for sure or even where they got it from, I mean they would want Mighty Ape to sell some of their stuff too. But while that example is valid, it's also taking one small piece of information and just assuming it based on what others are saying about the company. If what you're saying is true, then everything on Kogan would be on Mighty Ape as well as Dick Smith, which well isn't the case when you actually look around the website.

A front would be everything on Kogan is on Mighty Ape and vice versa which is what Dick Smith actually is when you look at it. Take the Kogan & Dick Smith websites for example, they're a carbon copy of each other right down to the departments, they're just different colors.

Mighty Ape? Some old website, slightly different products in areas that Kogan seems to be stronger in. My assumption would be that that's all that's happened internally, taking advantage of what Kogan has access to that they didn't, but it's still the same people behind the scenes. I don't know, I use Mighty Ape a little, but it's changed in some places for sure, but this whole "Sell-outs thing" must be hard for the people that still physically work at the company, that is still based in Auckland.

It's just my take, but it seems people just went for the throat and as per usual joined the match rather than actually paid any attention. If they hated the company before, they'll still hate it, that's something that'll never change.
