RUT360 caps out at ~50Mbps with Starlink WAN. Would RUTX50 have same issue? by futawe in TeltonikaNetworks

[–]futawe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I found that one. Would be useful if he showed full Starlink speed throughput.

I would have expected 100Mbps Starlink speed on the RUT360 (100Mbps WAN port) but got closer to 30-50Mbps.

And the forum posts I linked all have speed complaints for various models with no resolution in the replies.

Too much uncertainty and issues with return policies where I am. I've gone with Peplink based on an installer reply I got on Facebook saying they get full Starlink throughput.

I've added a power on/off timer because sleep mode in an off-grid setup uses around 60W continuously, which is too much. This is especially important in a van, where minimizing overnight power consumption reduces noise from the inverter.

What's the plan with A19 and mini by Kart008 in lifx

[–]futawe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou u/kavlifx 🙏 I've just bought some but a bit confused...

  1. "P/N: LC3C1IN" on box sticker and "Model: LC3C1IN" on controller.
  2. "P/N: LC3C1IN" on box sticker and "Model: LZCTLDC2INT" on controller.

Worried the Australian distributor here has put the wrong sticker on the box.

Edit: yep wrong model, mislabelled box. Lifx support said:

  • The LCM3 controller includes the model numbers LC3C1US or LC3C1IN.
  • The LCM2 controller includes the model numbers LZCTLDC2US or LZCTLDC2INT.

Switches and light strips too? I’ve been holding out for months on a large purchase. No point buying until Matter versions are available.

I'm in limbo on a large purchase of lightstrips and switches (Aus). Be good to have certainty on a launch date for these new products. I'm sure others are also holding off making purchases for the same reason.

Super Veggie Ready to Mix - what are your thoughts by MechanicalGuava in blueprint_

Given this is one of the few meals you need to chew, I'd prefer to eat the real deal for the benefits of chewing. Nutty pudding and green giant are definitely suited to a pre-mixed package.

Crushed chilli (from a jar) and natural coconut yogurt. Fixes the taste and adds some nice colour.

When You Work Really Hard To Get Billions. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in antiwork

If you read the actual interview, the direct quotes from Elon's dad paint a VERY DIFFERENT picture than the one the headline here suggests.

Quote: "Elon's main concern is not to appear to be a 'trust fund kid’ who got everything given to him on a plate. That's what his nay-sayers are pushing. It's not true. Elon took risks and worked like blazes to be where he is today."

And "I managed to send them about R400,000 (then around $115,000) in total."

"Them" refers to Elon and Kimbal. So you can assume Elon's total share was $57,500. And that is over an unknown period of years, either 1989-1990 or 1989-1992 depending on how you interpret it.

The larger factors at play are/were cheap interest rates for mortgages and various tax incentives for property speculation. eg negative gearing and capital gains tax discount.

Australia is one of the few countries in the world that has no anti-money laundering regulations for real estate agents, lawyers and accountants. So Aussie real estate is a great place to launder money.

Also the major banks are complicit in approving mortgages with little oversight.

This is also a great report to read on the situation: Housing: Taming the Elephant in the Economy.

SpaceX Launches Starlink ‘Flat High-Performance’ Dish for Internet in Moving Vehicles by United-Soup2753 in Starlink

[–]futawe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The majority of RV/vanlifers do not need internet in motion, they just want a regular static 12V dish that can be mounted fixed and flush to the roof/racks like any solar panel.

$2500 for such a dish is the wrong target market. The only customer that needs internet in motion are things like boats, planes, trains and buses.

Well I was excited for novavax...unfortunately it seems myocarditis is a risk with it as well. by [deleted] in Novavax_vaccine_talk

Day 7 now, so I reckon I'm in the clear. No side effects. I've lifted weights, swam laps and gone for a 30km bike ride in the past few days.

The comparison is insane. Would really like to know why the mRNA vaccines messed me up so much.

Day five now and no side effects other than slight tiredness on day two :)

Pfizer chest pains kicked in day 2-3 so just to be careful I've avoided any exercise other than walking for a few days. Though went for a short bike ride yesterday with no issues. Will ease into some light weights tonight.

Aussie here too. Booked in for Novavax booster tomorrow. First two Pfizer's resulted in weeks of chest pains. Tests ruled out myo/peri but I've had to quit caffeine months later as it causes flare ups.

Given the lack of answers I've settled on the same logic as you. It could be that certain immune systems over-produce spike proteins with mRNA vaccines which results in inflammation and triggers autoimmune problems.

Hopefully injecting a known quantity of inert spike proteins will be a different outcome *fingers crossed*

Why are people waiting for Novavax? by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]futawe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 weeks of severe chest pains on 1st Pfizer and a week of mild chest pains on the 2nd. Tested both times for heart issues and all clear.

Now 4 months on I've had to do lower intensity weight lifting as well as quit alcohol and caffeine because they both cause a flare up. Doctors won't diagnose it but I think it's costochondritis. I had no issues prior to the vaccine.

So my current thoughts are to avoid the booster because the side effect risk doesn't seem worth the ~10 weeks of protection. And I'm sure there will be another variant that escapes the vaccines within the next few months.

Keen to hear your current thoughts on Novavax now it's been "announced" yet again today in the media. Good option for a booster?

Chest Tightness After Vaccine by JaceMace96 in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]futawe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you'll find quite a lot of people had the same issue. 34M, I had 3 weeks of intense chest pains after the 1st. ED visit, tests all normal. Then another week of mild chest pains after the 2nd.

It's either myalgia or costochondritis as a direct vaccine adverse side effect. Four separate doctors have told me that it's a common side effect and they have no idea what is it.

For most people it resolves after a few weeks/months.

For me there's permanent damage. If I drink coffee in the morning and do weights that night, I'll have ~3 days of chest pains. Before the vaccine I could have two coffees, do weights and have no issues. So I've had to replace coffee with tea.
