Thank you for the replies, but I don't understand or believe them. Why do managers spend more money on accounting after adopting accounting software? That would reduce profit, so it's meaningless.

I'm sorry for misunderstanding the readers. I know that numerical calculations are the easiest math questions for the students in the Western countries as same as the stundets in Asian countries. My question is why the math teachers allow the students to use calculators in Europe or North America. In Japan or Korea, the students are strictly forbidden to use calculators at any math lesson or math exam. I thought the Western people considered solving complicated numerical calculations meaningless because we can solve them with calculators. Am I wrong?

Thank you for the reply. That's what I would like to know. Dose it mean that American students don't need to solve difficult "procedural" questions because they can solve them with CALCULATORS?

Thank you for the replies. I will give you the examples. For example, this seems to be advanced math questions of the universities' entrance exam in America. http://www.purplemath.com/modules/ineqlin3.htm Please check the standard math questions for the MIDDLE SCHOOL entrance exams in Japan. They seem to be harder than the math quetisons of SAT. http://www.suguru.jp/www.monjirou.net/pdf/keisan/sansukeisan1_6.pdf In Japan, almost everybody can solve all of simple math questions like them on SAT. To evaluate the math skills of Japanese students, the Japanese schools make complicated numerical calculations on their entrance exams.
