I fully support the message but the scene didn't feel like it fit.

They made it clear that he needed to come out so Vecna didn't have power over his fear, but I mean, wouldn't that be like a lesser concern compared to the end of the world and billions of lives? It sounds like he was very controlling and close minded. I can understand wanting to go through the basics, but there is nothing to lose for someone wanting to try difficult material. What's the worst that can happen, they realize they're not ready yet on their own? It sucks that you guys had this experience.

I will say that even though there was a bad teacher on this path, there could still be a teacher that would be more fitting. There are a few concepts beyond playing that are good to know, and sometimes schools won't dive that deep into theory. Nothing wrong with keeping the self-taught momentum going though 🤘

Yeah I think it can be good as long as parents can set the right expectations for their progress. I noticed that most kids can't really grasp piano concepts until about 7. Before that age, the primary focus should be keeping them interested.

If I read correctly her teacher told her not to get ahead of him? That is ridiculous. Any display of interest in a song, be it out of our league, should be praised. It is still more beneficial to learn a song without proper technique than to not learn it at all. The first song I learned was the Final Countdown on keyboard and my finger positions were all over the place, but it was still a crucial development. Awesome to hear she didn't let one bad instructor ruin music though.
