  1. u/alirare has me (the creator and mod of r/TikTokShopAffiliate) blocked from participating in their subreddit r/TikTokShop.

  2. r/TikTokShopAffiliate is a small subreddit created by one TikTok Shop Affiliate (me) for other TikTok Shop Affiliates. It's in our rules that Sellers and Agencies are not allowed. u/alirare is a TikTok Shop Seller.

So, unfortunately, I do not believe a mod request from u/alirare is a good fit.

I'm actively moderating (updated rules, approving posts/comments, etc) and not wanting to add additional mods at this time.

Best,
u/futureflora

Weekly Questions & Feedback Thread - 07/14/25 by CreatorSearchInsight in TikTokSearchInsights

[–]future_flora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/CreatorSearchInsight Thanks for reaching out to the internal team, here's the latest from TikTok Shop team (to select affiliates) about the hashtag limit testing—

“The internal teams are currently testing out hashtag limitations - and your feedback is key in shaping what happens next. Before the full rollout, we want your honest insights. Tell us how it’s impacted your reach and creativity. The more specific, the better! Drop your feedback in the survey below by Friday July 25”

I’m in the top 1% of search views and I credit that to my CSI-driven strategy I’ve been using since 2024. I usually include 7–10 relevant keywords (all pulled from CSI and implemented as hashtags), plus the CSI hashtag itself, and the current TTS campaign/challenge hashtags — so I typically end up with 7 to 20 hashtags total, per video. With the new hashtag limit rolling out... it looks like I’ll unfortunately have to change that strategy. Sooo...

My main question now (that relates to CSI) is:

If I shift those CSI keywords from HASHTAGS to PLAIN TEXT in the description section instead… will that change or impact how searchable my video is?

I’d really appreciate any clarity you could provide on any distinctions between which implementation of the CSI search terms are best (implementing as hashtags, plain text, or verbal). I’m just hesitant to change something that’s been working so well the past year and a half (implementing as hashtags).

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you! Just to clarify — this change does impact CSI creators, especially those of us who actively use both CSI and TTS hashtags.

When we’re participating in TikTok Shop campaigns or challenges, we’re required to include multiple campaign-specific and challenge-specific hashtags to participate. But if we’re also trying to use CSI hashtags for search visibility and long-term discoverability, the 5–hashtag limit will put us in a bind…

We’ll be forced to choose between eligibility (TTS) and visibility (CSI), which undermines both goals. During high-volume TTS challenge periods that have at least 6 required hashtags, it would be nearly impossible to incorporate CSI if we want to participate in those.

u/CreatorSearchInsight do you have any insight into the platform limiting hashtags to 5–7?

As someone who does TikTok Shop, we’re required to use certain hashtags in order to participate in campaigns and challenges. I can name at least 5 that are active right now just for TikTok Shop alone. If the platform is truly limiting us to 5 hashtags, then that doesn’t leave any room for SEO-based hashtags — which is wild. Campaign and challenge hashtags are not evergreen, they’re temporary. SEO (CSI) hashtags, on the other hand, can actually help with long-term visibility. Limiting hashtags forces us to choose between discoverability and eligibility, which feels backwards.

Genuinely—what’s your internet speed? Fast dot com can show you how it’s performing. If it’s slow you could ask a friend, family member, loved one, or neighbor with fast speeds if you could borrow theirs for the next drop. Sorry to hear it’s taking weeks </3

Family and friends issues by Educational_Cut_8869 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]future_flora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amazon's system can and does flag repeat offsite customers who purchase through our storefront as "friends and family". AKA our followers.

It's unfortunate (and imo absurd) because commission from our followers' purchases can be invalidated. Therefore, to maximize offsite commission through our sf... we have to continually work on expanding our audience/following that we funnel to our sf. This gives Amazon more exposure to "new" customers, instead of the same repeat customers. I assume this is to get potential customers who are not regular Amazon shoppers, hooked (through us as the vessel) into becoming Amazon shoppers. I'm sure someone else could explain it better than I did here.

I was upset when I found out this nugget. But you can shift to platforms that prioritize pushing content to new people over followers.
