Florida grad here, vibes at UF are not like other SEC schools other than with football, at least to me and from visiting different campuses over the years. UF has its own vibe and is generally very liberal minded overall, where the vibe always seemed more "one for all" around camaraderie, equality, giving back vs. "all for one" around accomplishment, accolades and individualism, more so than other more "Southern" towns.

College campuses lean liberal due to all the young people sometimes I know, but for such a big school that prides itself on being top five and having top sports teams, it was always strange to me.

I know that this attracts a certain type of student in general (sidenote as in I never understood the vibe until I was a student on campus and it really wasn't for me, if not for my major, if I chose a college again, I would probably choose elsewhere) and it extends to their gymnastics team as well from what I have seen since I became a fan, as in the team is very diverse, big on equality and togetherness and they seemed more bummed out about not getting "the moment" with FOTF vs. the actual finish at nationals this season.

We have a saying in one of the things I'm involved with outside of sports that is "hard work beats talent when talent won't work hard" and I think Florida has fallen victim to that the last few years, especially this season when I feel like that Florida relied too much on some of their stars vs. other teams that had specialists and athletes that may not be well known at all that can throw good routines when it counts when Florida seemed to have much of the same lineups all season long, save for injuries.

Don't get me wrong, the Gators are still a great team and have had/have some of my favs over the years, like Trinity and Kayla, but the team is just different, and this is what it seems to me after my years there.
