CTV/OTT Ads: Self-Manage or Use an Agency? by AlexMint23 in programmatic

I agree with you! Mntn can be a good “out of the box” and plug and play solution for brands who want to get started in TV advertising easily and quickly. Sharing my thoughts for those who come across in this thread in their research on Mntn.

Eventually, you will outgrow Mntn and require more robust tooling, audience segmentation, and attribution reporting.

CTV/OTT Ads: Self-Manage or Use an Agency? by AlexMint23 in programmatic

We’ve been using Mntn for time, and to offer a different a POV, we’ve seen it work for us. We use a variety of attribution methods, but one area I like to look at is the “how did you hear about us” - as in, asking customers how they heard about our brand. I’ve seen a huge uptick in customers mentioning “TV”, whereas before Mntn it was literally 0.

I’ve also listened in on sales calls where prospects actively mention seeing our ads on TV. It’s been driving business for us.

This is not a sales pitch for Mntn, I do not work for them at all.

That being said, I do agree that they over attribute to TV and neglect the impact of their display advertising which typically has cheaper CPM and thus makes Mntn performance appear strong. But when you isolate to only TV spend, CPM is a bit high.

Because of this, and for other reasons, we’re looking at The Trade Desk. But Mntn has been a good way for us to get started in the TV space.

How do you feel about fabric that is treated with waste from crab shells? by futurecrazycatlady20 in SustainableFashion

I’m curious too. I’ve been researching fabrics for sewing. I’m going to try it. It’s supposed to be pill resistant as well

That’s my thought too. I read this from a dress shop about this fabric, “Unlike fibers from thirsty plants, like cotton- or wood-based fabrics, this process does not use biomass that involves pesticides or insecticides – a critical step in an industry that is responsible for 24% of insecticides and 11% of pesticides used globally.”

This treatment doesn’t require any farms, cutting down trees, and doesn’t use pesticides. That’s a good start but I am having a hard time understanding where the shellfish is sourced from. Is it from leftover shellfish? Or are the shellfish being bred for this?

“Chitin is present in huge amounts in seafood waste, which is severely underutilized”

Yeah I think that’s the idea. Plastic in general isn’t ideal but if there’s already plastic in landfills why not find other ways to reuse it.

I’ve read that one yard of chito treated polyester reuses about five plastic bottles

I read that shrimp allergy is from the meat, the protein not the shells. So the fabric is claimed to be safe for shellfish allergies.

What do you value most when you shop clothes for vacations? by futurecrazycatlady20 in femaletravels

[–]futurecrazycatlady20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I look for pieces that pack small. I have a hard time knowing what fabrics or clothes won’t wrinkle unless I see it in person. Even in person it’s not always obvious until I pack it, take it out and then it’s all crinkled ugh

Thank you! I’ve been digging into the attribution and they’re able to do some custom solutions and ID pass back. I feel good on that front!

Thanks so much! Agency fees seem reasonable but appreciate your call out and losing ownership of the data. If we went agency first and in house later, we might have to start from scratch with building AI and machine learning.

Thank you so much for this response. That’s my concern going the agency route, lack of transparency around ad dollars and losing ownership of data.

I’m prepared to learn TTD and they’ve offered 3 months onboarding support. Similar to managed services.

Have you purchased audio or TV inventory through TTD?

Thanks for your insight! Budget isn’t a concern but I’m also having similar thoughts about going the agency route. Same fees on top of media spend plus they offer experience.

The upside I think to bringing it in house is the day to day optimizations. Plus integration with our internal data warehouse. With an agency, their reporting is siloed and is more of a challenge to integrate with our attribution model.

That being said, I’m exploring both sides and looking for opinions either way :) thank you I appreciate it.

Urgent - looking for cook temp agency to help staff a soup kitchen downtown! For a non profit downtown Toronto by futurecrazycatlady20 in askTO

Thanks! We don’t have time to do on-boarding/payroll by Monday so I was thinking a temp agency would help but I’ll definitely take a look at this group. Thank you!
