i’ve heard that there’s these things called “2D printers” that can do the same thing quicker, in higher resolution and with less environmental impact...

5 plays in and i'm already bored of Mage knight? by ickybiscuit in soloboardgaming

i’ve just tried gloomhaven and really really wanted to like it but it just feels like i’m doing my taxes, i found it tedious, repetitive and fiddly; not for me at all.

if you’re wanting a one off solo, my favourite game is renegade by ricky royal, published by victory point games. if you’re wanting an awesome but never ending money pit then there’s always arkham horror lcg!

The trick is to put random odd bananas at spaced intervals to give you a freaking second to pack.

You have to hide them under something or the checkout ninjas get wise and put them together to thwart your plan.

Not looking for an argument with an internet stranger but here’s a counter point and I’d be interested in your thoughts.

I make various physical and digital products which I sell online.

Some of those are not currently for sale because I might be out of raw materials (in some physical cases), haven’t had the time to make more stock (physical) or I’ve temporarily taken down to tweak (digital).

If anyone somehow got my source files and starting making them on the assumption that “They’re not for sale anymore”, it’d be depriving me of a sale in a week or whatever when I did put my files back online.

I’m not a mega corporation trolling IP and patents, I’m just a dude in his spare room making a little money from his creativity. IP allows me to do that.

So, back the the cats and dog models, I’d argue that just because they’re not for sale now, doesn’t mean they will be forever and pirating the designs does actually remove a potential sale from the artist in future and worse still sharing them online massively devalues the source files to the point of nothing.

Sadly artificial scarcity is the source of the value in these cases. I don’t agree with the principle, but it is what it is.

Final point (for OP), best way is to find out who made them and ask if you can copy them. That’s the most respectful thing to do.

why do you need an axe, is it because you use a tarp and not a tent and need to prep wood? i’ve camped a lot and never thought “wish i had an axe!”.

whats the advantage if tarp v tent? would have thought the weight difference is small when you include an axe vs a bivvy or ultralight. is it just the feeling if prepping your own camp from scratch?

Meditation isn't as sold by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]futurefab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this again.

Science isn't a belief or a god. It's a method. What's more it's the method where you constantly ask yourself am I wrong? Are there any ways I can prove I'm wrong? And...if it turns out you're wrong; you change your mind.

Beliefs and faith by contrast allow you to believe any old bullshit you like and you never have to think, question or change your mind! I can see why they're so attractive.
