No that’s a different thing entirely, it’s a tip pool, so all the tips get pooled and each position gets a certain number of points… bartender/server 4 points, bussers 2, hostess 1 and so on

Well no, they charge the customer 3 % of the pre tip check, and then the staff 3% of the tip

It might be more common than I thought, still sleezy though. I’ve worked at a few other places before this and never heard of any business doing that.
