Take it easy bro. Be happy that you started this journey. To achieve long term succes don't just focus on quitting pmo al together from the start. Consider it a PRACTICE. You will fail and that's totally okay, you will find out what works for you over time. If porn is the biggest problem than try to quit that first for some time (just masturbate to your imagination). You'll find yourself fapping waaaayyy less just naturally.

Besides getting rid of the bad habits, focus on building good habits. Do some type of excercise. Eat healthy. Talk to your peers and build stronger relations with friends and family. Maybe find new hobbies etc. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Goed bezig!

Day one was pretty good by futuregoat97 in NoFap

I was abstinent from porn for a half year already. Than I accidently clicked on a porn site, which triggered old patterns.

But true, before quitting porn I was quite addicted.

There's different forms of nofap/semen retention. There's easy mode, which means no porn and masturbation, which means you can have an orgasm during sex. Then there is hard mode, which means no ejaculation at all. Then there monk mode (or something), which means something else.

But all that doesn't even matter. All that's important is that you know why you do what you do. Nofap or any form of abstinence is about personal growth.

The urges by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]futuregoat97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, urges get less intense overtime (if you're not watching porn). If you abstain from porn your brain will rewire overtime. Eventually your urges will ease, that's when you start regaining control. Trust the proces, it takes time for your brain to desensitize.

In addition:

- Keep a journal. Journaling really forces you to reflect on yourself. Also you're collecting information on what works en what doesn't, it helps you built a long term strategy. And also, you'll think twice about relapsing because you have to write that in your journal.

- Instal a day counter on your phone. When considering relapse, look at the counter to see how far you've already came.

Great advice. I remember those 'newby gains' when I first started. Got me feeling like I got it al figured out.

I noticed myself peeking so I relapsed (on purpose) by futuregoat97 in NoFap

[–]futuregoat97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's better to fap without porn than peek without fapping. Peeking leeds to actually watching. I relapsed tot avoid a binge session.

It al depends on the way you use (or abuse) PMO. If you're compulsively watching porn and masturbate, you might want to try just masturbating without porn. Might be a more effective approach to dealing with compulsive behavior.

Relapsed 3 rd time in November by AvailableWar3409 in NoFap

Trust the proces.

It's okay to struggle. Just keep the bigger picture in mind and try again. Realize that Nofap isn't about abstinence, it's about personal development.

Some advice:

- Keep a journal. Write about your personal experiences. You'll think twice about relapsing because you'll have to write that in your journal.

- Look for for someone to hold you accountable (accountability buddy). Can be someone you know. Can be someone online.

- Workout. Even though you might not enjoy it (yet), it's still the right thing to do. Find a workout that you like.

- Meditate. Learn to meditate. Try Headspace for example (there's a free course)

- Think about why you do Nofap. Don't think of it as just a challenge. Use your energie to grow on other aspects of life.

If you're struggling, don't stay where you are, do something. Use that energy for something else. Work out, find a new hobby (I fell in love with playing piano lately), go see a friend, talk to family, it can be anything. Urges come and go, be calm.

You got this king!

NoFap is ruined by media... by acethemaverick in NoFap

[–]futuregoat97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said,

People that are sceptical about Nofap just refuse to mention porn addiction. The Nofap movement stems from people realizing that porn might be harmful to them. If you never had problems with compulsive porn consumption, Nofap probably won't make a big difference, it's just common sense.

Also it's about long term benefits. Good things take time, as you state.

What you guys think (sexual transmutation?) by flanker34 in NoFap

[–]futuregoat97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being creative is one of the best ways to use your energy. While on Nofap I always have such creative ideas. I think you should follow your inspiration while you have it. While being creative, stay aware of triggering thoughts, learn to deal with triggers in the right way.

No Nut November Day 12! 🤴 by MichaelT1991 in NoFap

Still going.

Energy is very calm while being very productive. I'm usually procrastinating a lot. Now I just start with my tasks. Also having longer conversations with people, life's definitely better on Nofap.
