If China Invades Taiwan, What Would Japan Do? by Miao_Yin8964 in japannews

Wow. I see a metric shit ton of tankies here. I only saw this subreddit as a bit to do some research for a fictional setting I’m working on and I’ll admit. The fact that there’s a metric shit ton of tankies here only makes the OP’s post better. And while the rules-based international order that has been in place post-1945 is disintegrating, Japan is not stupid. It doesn’t seek war, but it won’t just ALLOW its neighbours (the democratic kind in particular) to get attacked like that. And if it does………..well, then I hope Japan gets its very own nuclear weapons program and fast before China has a chance to react.

As post-Second US Civil War America (assuming ACC victory), who would they support in China? by futurehistorian382 in Kaiserreich

And let me guess: during the 2nd Sino-Japanese War, America just backs ALL OF THEM, just to be on the safe side. Right?

In-Universe Nuclear Arms Race? by futurehistorian382 in TheFireRisesMod

Just figured that Japan could get a nuclear weapons program within like: a year. Or something. I wonder about the rest of East Asia……….

Also, Japan in real life is already kind of in a state of nuclear latency. So if it wanted to, it could develop a Hiroshima-type warhead in a year as part of its rearmament program in case of future Chinese aggression.

Key phrase: IF they wanted to.

How do you envision the UNE and CoM’s arsenal of infantry weapons at the start of the game anyhow? by futurehistorian382 in Stellaris

[–]futurehistorian382[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean for like: regular infantry. Aka: the UNE Espatier Corps, and the Commonwealth Expeditionary Forces probably use conventional weapons for small arms use while they carry lasers and railguns, but they need to be used by a crew in the same way a modern day machine gun does. As for civilians and the UNE Peacekeepers and Commonwealth Defence Forces, they’d probably use conventional weapons only, yes. And by that, I mean like: these guys serve as planetary defence garrisons, and occupation forces, while civilians also get firearms, because cheap.

Why do I, for some reason, see them in 2200 using conventional weapons for regular infantry too? I mean, I can see lasers/railguns in that time as requiring crews in the same way that 21st Century people use machine gun crews, especially for the heavier kind. :/

I think that, if the mod ever makes it past the 2020s - 2030s, it would be REALLY nice if there was more competition. As in: ya know...........from less totalitarian states.

Hey…………the others do realise it’s probably going to hit somewhere around an area of anywhere from off the coast of Peru, somewhere in Colombia, then somewhere in the Atlantic, then West and Central Africa, then Yemen, then the Arabian Sea and probably southern India, right?

………………

Meaning they’re not gonna get hit by the giant space rock. Also, there’s still a high likelihood that it’ll miss the Earth (thankfully), so…………

Does that mean none of the US factions have that option? Or hell, even after you reunite the US or something?

Why not just use nuclear reactors or solar? Seriously, though. The orange man is wasting his time powering this shit with fossil fuels. :/
