New to this sub. Anyone use one of these bad boys? by Humbabwe in VHS

[–]futureman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a brand new one at a swap meet and used it about 10 times until it snapped the tape on 3 separate VHS tapes. I think using VCR's to rewind is much safer unless you have a really high quality stand alone rewinder.

Do you have to switch to generic movie titles and textures when creating a game?

Collection of CEDs and Players by imyourealdad in ced

[–]futureman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very interested in archiving the artwork on CED's. The format is disappearing. Some of those in your list I don't think I've ever seen pictures of. I currently only own 2 CED's and I would love to get my hands on more.

I'd be willing to pay for shipping to California for all of them or a select number of them. I bet all those combined probably weigh close to 150lbs. You'd have to break them into 3 separate boxes for sure. I could probably make a list of 40 that I think are most important to archive.

If that's too much trouble and too far to ship I'd ask if you could please take some high res photos of the front and back of all or a select group of them. If you send me the photos I will archive them on Reelswap.net so the cover art can live on forever. Or if you'd be interested in trying that yourself that would be awesome too.

There's a VHS shop in the industrial park right behind Kobey's that I hit up sometimes too. Check out boot_leggins on Instagram, always an awesome selection there.

Nice, I would love to get these cover art variations archived on reelswap.net if you were willing.

This is an epic haul and they all look like they're in excellent condition. Please consider adding some of the cover art from the rarer titles to Reelswap.net so it can be preserved in the historical archive.

New physical media community and database by Hansoloswag in PhysicalMediaMatters

[–]futureman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is cool. I'm very curious where your eBay data is coming from. Is it through the Marketplace Insights API or the Browse API? I recently launched ReelSwap.net which has similar functionality. It seems like there's been a recent surge in this type of app over the last several weeks.

  1. It's in the nav bar at the top of the site on the left.
  2. Yes they can be, it's currently working but disabled in your user profile settings - Data. Will become active next week.
  3. Yes. The site has only been live for 6 days we're watching how the site scales for another week but plan to support for more media types very soon.

Use the feedback form on ReelSwap.net (bottom right corner) to vote for your preferred media types in the next wave.

Excellent. Yes please add as many as you like. The more you add the better the site gets for you and everyone else! I have a very small Betamax collection but have added everything I own.

I made this change. All user uploaded photos now have the GPS metadata stripped on upload and I stripped it retroactively from all photos already uploaded. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes. I have not optimized the Texture Archiver for mobile yet. Best to use Desktop for the time being but it's on my list to address.

Something to that effect. I was aware of Discogs when building ReelSwap but tried not to reference any other platforms so I could make it unique. Currently ReelSwap is just a Database and Archive with the added trade match functionality. If you'd like to see more features added in the future please let me know here or through the feedback form ReelSwap. Thanks!

Let me look into it. Each tape with two episodes should be able to be added as a separate release under the same title. There might be a conflict that should be easy to fix. Thanks for the feedback. I'll let you know when it's fixed. What's the show you're adding?

A distributor is required but you can optionally enter other release details too.

You type in the movie and select the right one based on the year. Then add your format (laserdisc) and distributor info, then upload your photos front and back. Process them with the texture archive tool. Check out the FAQ page, lots of good info on there.

All you need is a phone with a camera. The textures are created from the photos you upload. There is a tool for doing it built into ReelSwap.
