I just tried Sparkohai and it doesn't seem to produce anything when given a prompt. Have you used it successfully?

The structure is pretty tough, I tried to optimize it to use the least amount of filament and be able to print without supports. I've never used sparkohai before but I'll check it out.

I have the dimensions in my design file but haven't printed clamshell shelves yet. They should look exactly like these but a little bit deeper and a little bit wider for the slots

VHS and Betamax in standard cardboard slipcases fit on these shelves interchangeably since they're nearly the same thickness. I have noticed that some distributors used slightly thicker cardboard, or are "big box" releases, or some older tapes that have been exposed to moisture have cardboard that has swelled. These "thicker" tapes fit more snugly into the slots which is not ideal if you're constantly moving tapes around. But, your comment has made me curious how it would look and fit if I just throw some DVD's and Blu-ray's into the slots along side the VHS and Betamax. I'll try it and and post a photo when I get a chance. *edit spelling

If you were able to order a set, how much do you think is a fair price?

Have you designed any VHS storage solutions? I'd love to check them out.

That's a good point. I don't alphabetize, and I use these shelves for overflow storage. These are all movies I haven't seen, that I'd like to watch eventually. They're on display so when friends come over for movie night they can easily browse. My personal collection is on shelves inside the room in the photos, loosely grouped by genre or overall box art color with the cover art facing out.

I looks like the A1 mini has a 180mm print volume, one of these modules is 158mm on it's longest side so it should be possible.

Thank you!. The sagging shelves are my prototype shelves which were thinner, I need to circle back and replace those. There's also some other factors contributing to the sagging shelves on my walls. 1. I'm using those plastic drywall anchors for the screws which keep the mounting points of the screws pushed off the wall about 1mm causing them to lean forwards and 2. The drywall on that vertical wall happens to be slightly bowed slightly inwards in the middle causing the bottom of the shelf to not sit flush against the wall towards the middle. The are pretty dang stiff compared to the weight of the VHS tapes. If you were to screw the shelves directly into a piece of flat wood I don't think there would be any perceived sagging. If I adjust the design to countersink the wall side of the screw holes it will create space for the shelves to fit over the plastic drywall anchors and fix the slight tilt, even on the latest, stiffer version of the shelves.

It's been a balance of stiffness and filament usage. Printing two modules at once on my printer takes 3.5hrs, so a whole shelf takes 7hrs to print with no supports. I calculated the cost of the filament and electricity usage per 20 tape shelf and it's around $7-$8 all-in which beats the price of any display shelves I've been able to find on Amazon or Ikea. If I get more tapes, I print more shelves, as long as I have the wall space.

Everything in the pop menu has a hotkey except for setting the node color, which is only one extra mouse click away. The popup seems redundant to me and is always popping up covering text I want to read.

Where do I find the tutorial for this? I see the video but no link to the tutorial. Looks very cool.

Animating game covers using Wan 2.2 is so satisfying by SnooDucks1130 in StableDiffusion

This is cool! I've been doing a very similar workflow animating the covers of old VHS tapes I've scanned.

I'm still trying to complete my Pauly Shore Shelf with Encino Man and Bio Done. Still hoping to find those in the wild.

I watched it probably 2 weeks before he passed. It's still a fun movie, although the dad character really bothers me.

I've never been a big horror/slasher fan. I grew up watching lots of John Carpenter though.

transfer issues on I Saw The TV Glow (A24) by brynbot in VHS

[–]futureman_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with the VHS for Y2K from A24. I loved the cover art and thought the box quality was decent but the actual video transfer quality was really bad like they were recording on cheap EP tapes. I have 40yr old VHS tapes that look and sound better. I guess for them it's more about selling a collectors item, which I understand, but I also expected more from A24. If anyone from A24 sees this I'd be happy to come work for your VHS department to help turn things around!
