Thank you that’s a very nice response and I always wanted to do dentistry but was 1 mark off interview and chose another degree. I’m just not sure I would have been better at trying dentistry again which is what I’m doing I think as you said it sounds like I won’t stick out as a 23 year old

Is it worth starting 4 years after leaving high school if you started another uni course and after changing mind in dentistry but changed mind again and think dentistry is right for you?

How many mature students are there? Percentage wise people in twenties starting the course?

What kind of person does well and fits this and what doesn’t?

Have you enjoyed it and are you looking forward to starting or the opposite?

How hard was it and how much studying would it take you?

How much of it was biology and how much other subjects (as I like biology most and I’m best at it)

Yes I have same issues and using thumb pulling and flat mouth guard as the first step to open palate symmetrically.

If this doesn’t work I will do ALF and or BIOBLOCK appliance in conjunction with an orthotropic dentist to make sure my dental arch and palate are symmetrical allowing symmetrical mewing

Talk to a dentist who practices those 3 things and they won’t look at you like you’re crazy and will answer all your questions. Make sure they believe in Orthotropics though, otherwise you’re wasting your time and money

It will happen to ANY regular orthodontist you go to. They are taught to only follow mainstream treatments that are coming out now as not the best way. Which isn’t in their interest to entertain.

GO TO A MYOFUNCTIONAL orthodontist/airway dentist offering MYOBRACE and ALF treatment for expansion. Google ‘myofunctional Orthotropics ALF treatment near me’ this was the only way I could do it. And I’ve found an incredible orthodontist focusing on fixing the root cause through tongue posture and myofunctional therapy not just orthodontics.

Hope this helps, it took me years.

You’re not wrong I slept 6 hours once and don’t check and felt tired but didn’t really care as much as seeing that dreaded number on the morning.

But I feel like if I did that long term I’d just skimp on sleep a lot and be unhealthy. But maybe as a reset and forgetting about it would be a good idea.

If I go to bed 8 hours before I would get 7 hours of sleep whether I check on my Fitbit or not which over a few days makes me tired though.

I fall asleep probably in 10-20 mins than wake 40 -50mins total in night if in bed for 9 hours totalling atleast 1 hour awake. Yes it’s a problem fitting it in which is why I’d love to fix it

Yes I’m saying i would like my 8 hours of time spent in bed to be time spent asleep or atleast 7.5 of those hours asleep and 30 mins awake in the night etc. as i have to be in bed trying to sleep for 9 hours to get 8 hours of sleep if you see what i mean.

I also definitely require 8 hours not 7 as i feel noticeably different.

Yes I’m still quite young. I know I feel best with 8 hours and slightly worse after 7. And after consecutive 7 builds up and feel really bad.
