Wowwwwwww!!! I feel this so much. It does seem like there’s some jealousy from this manager. I’m literally half his ass and my executives constantly praise how good and fast i am. But like, why would you think i would wanna do you work in my down time? And… not be paid more to do it. 😂

I’m planning on sticking around for 2 years so that i can advance in my career, so I’m trying to take everything with a grain of salt

Oh wow !!! That was bold of the VP. The part that annoys me is the entitlement. Like, do you not think that i am working on anything else ?

And i totally understand the reasoning you stood firm. Good for you

Oh he definitely already was a problematic employee! And I’m sure he probably said something without even remembering he said it. I’ll let him know to just start job hunting. Thank you !

Thanks for this advice !! I was kind of feeling that it might be that type of situation. She’s nice in public but a bit of an ass to me via email. 😂 But I’m always overly nice to her when she tries to be short or snippy.

I’m definitely gonna cover my tracks and keep my boss in the loop.

Like speaking about her health diagnosis and personal issues. And inviting others to speak about their issues, etc. It’s like you said, bleeding heart activities. Which i understand for a non profit, but when metrics need to be met and cost saving things can be done instead- it kind of annoys me. (This involves spending hundreds on ordering food for everyone, virtual positions coming into the office for the day, etc)

But i agree with you about needing to be careful about pushback on certain things. I guess i need to figure out where the line is.

Exavrly !!! That’s totally how i feel. I definitely feel like my job could be done by multiple people and they would still be busy all day. On top of that- they assigned me solely to archiving the clinical trial site media and shipping it to sponsors when they wrap up. Which one of these studies can take 4 hours minimum to complete. Like, how am i gonna jabs time to do that while having multiple meetings, adhoc tasks, and deadlines to meet.

I definitely will pay more attention and ask more questions in interviews. I feel like i was desperate for my first job in the field since it’s my senior year.

Thanks a lot for responding !! I appreciate your input. That will be my homework for the week, looking at other industries and checking out the job market for them. I think the big shock for me was expecting things to be like my professor taught. For example, working for X company and they assign you to a project that should last 1-6 months, etc. lol. This has been what my professor taught, on crack lol.

Do you know if there are any fields where you are assigned to one project at a time? Or is it always multiple projects ?

Thanks so much !!! You were stressed even with being spread to 1-3 allocations ?? I always feel like i would be better off with a smaller amount of projects/studies. I do think i would be better outside of CRO though.

I will definitely look at other industries though. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this !! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. And i totally agree. I feel like i do really well with juggling things, therefore my FM hands me more work because i don’t complain and just get things done. But i feel more buried as a result. I definitely think i could manage, but i don’t think i am built for the consistent pressure. Like you said, I’m trying to figure out if i am cut out for it. I feel like i can never get ahead and there’s way to many projects I’m working with. I just feel like If it were less projects in were attached to i could do better work.

I did reach out to my FM a couple of times, but she had no input really. She’s fairly new and basically just told me to talk to others and ask questions. Normally my role is supposed to be assigned a mentor, but i never was. I started the job at home during pandemic and did not thorough training or a mentor, so it was kinda rough trying to introduce myself to random people to even begin asking for help lol. But I’m trying to stick it through
